You went through boot camp, correct? Then there should be a record of your enlistment. Your feelings are your belongings, not anyone else's. Life ain't fair, it is just the way it is.

Well, I'm curious. When you contacted ID.me support, what did they tell you?

I mean, ultimately, I guess we're in the same position as anyone else you are claiming service towards. If you don't have any documentation at all, how do you, for example, prove to a prospective employer at a job interview that you were in? If you do have  such documentation, will id.me not accept it?

Good evening Chieftain! First off thank you for your service!!! :honoring:

To be honest as I read what required documents I had to show I knew that i did not have them so I stopped there. I mean why push forward then you know you don't have the right stuff.

I DO have my military personal file. (Most of it from what I can see) I DID go through boot camp at Ft.Lenardwood as well as AIT there too. I did complete my enlistment term. I went many places in my service. Belize (Building a school for the children in the deep jungle for 3 weeks), Ft.Hood, Ft.Sam Huston(Going to Belize), Texas A&M (Almost 2 months of heavy equipment hands on stick time training. All of it I volunteered for to learn to be better at my job) and Ft,Irwin. And I DO have my honorable discharge papers from when I was discharged. But I was never active....

If you want I can try to apply but from what I'm reading I strongly don't think that I will meet their requirements.

I understand that life is not fair at times and this might be one of those times. Again. If so it is what it is...

Like I said before thank you for listening to my request and thank you for your time.

Cheers and by the way..... Please keep up the great work on your tank videos that you do as you travel the world looking at tank collections! I truly enjoy them!

You don't have to if you got out of the Military past 1985.

You can also verify with a USAA account that only the military and family have access to.

Here is a pamphletof your VA benefits that you qualify for.

You can also check out this Website.

If you have other questions about your eligibility you can talk to their support team HERE

My point is that you need to sign in to the VA.gov website and you can only due that if you served. One of the ways to sign in is Through ID.me.

There are other National Guard and Reserves Members that are part of the Salute program. While WG may not be able to help, you can find Help with the ID.me, or VA.gov support team.

You may think that this is a lot of trouble for a Video Game, but ID.me emails you places that are offering discounts specifically for Veterans. It was created to make Vets life a little easier with one Sign in that says I am a Vet and this sign in option is proof I am verified.

Did all that, tried Through ID.me, didn't work either.  I am not going to get USAA.

I was a Title 32 AGR from 86-03 I don't have enough active duty days to make a 181 continuous day period of Title 10 time served.

I am eligible and receive VA benefits, same as my Title 10 counterparts.

180 days continuous active duty days served qualifies a person for Title 10 benefits.

As of this date I don't have access.

I can absolutely understand the frustration...but moreso the frustration with ID.me and/or the DoD's requirement plateau.

Respect to ALL who served honorably.  Active, Guard AND Reserve.  During the Gulf War, reservists were called up in droves to either forward-deploy to theater or backfill the bases depleted by active deployments.  Nobody gave 2 craps whether you served active or reserve.  And - we respected the rank the same.

I can understand WG using ID.me, it IS a military-trusted site already partnered with the VA.  I just wish there were accomodations for ALL who served honorably to be recognized there as well.

:honoring:

Do you perchance have an ID.me  ticket number or some  such from email correspondence with  them that we can point our contacts there towards?

If you have the file, then I don't see why you can't use the 'upload documentation' option.

I think it's worth following through. Can you message me the email address you are using for ID.me as you go through the process? That way we can have  our ID.me  contacts keep track of things on their end at the same time. You are obviously not the only person in this situation, but since you are identified, you may as well be the test subject to see if we can break the blocker and get everyone eligible into the system.

You can request a copy of your DD-214 relatively easily:

Respectfully @ The_Chieftain I have every document pertaining to my service but my 214 is held at a different location, not St Louis so therefore in their logic no record found.

As far as going through the process of obtaining access through uploading of documents etc..  The way I see it they have the required documents already but the agencies won't communicate with each other therefore having each to create their own database.   Why should I have to jump through their hoops to get something done every time so I will not "register" to be validated once more.

Let me say my info will never be shared across a website. My DD214 info about being a 95B will not see the light of day on any website. No tinfoil hat stuff but this kind of crapscares the hell out of me. All for a video game no less.

Mr The_Chieftain, I do not have a ticket number or any other POC.

To me it's a game and either way, if I do or if I don't qualify for the "extras" so be it.

I also am in the same mindset as non_creative_name especially on uploading my information from my PC.

If a VA Representative could assist in my verification that would work and about be the only way I know of.

Surprised you came out of your bunker to even make that post.

The government has now pinged your location and are on the way. RUN, HIDE, EVADE!

And let me say you're being silly.  I appreciate you being all protective... but ID.me is used by the VA. It IS a tinfoil hat you're wearing and your fears, are misplaced.

The video game company is using ID.me, not stealing the info.  Seriously, you're being silly.

After that VA Admin lost his laptop and having to check statements, etc for at least 6 months, no thank you.

Happy Veteran's Day and never forget the fallen and MIA.
