Just a rant...…….losing chevrons bites!  While I get that it's for those that have OP cw tanks and such...……….it's not a mode for casual or mid talented folks.  Oh well, I play a couple games, lose chevrons, move on back to randoms.  It is what it is.....

Good luck and happy tanking to those that are more masochistic!  lol

I have one of those (OP CW Tanks), but I still lose Chevrons all the time. Its a bit of luck involved. If your in the right place at the right time, it can be nice. Usually, ill end up on the side of the map that loses in the first 2 minutes because of that choice, sometimes ill get punished for my stupidity making a risky play, or sometimes ill just get the (bad team) and it is inevitable that ill lose. Basically I am at Div. 1 Rank 6, and I'm stuck without Bonus Battles, so I have to basically win then all and not lose, or get 2 wins for every loss, and that's just not how it works. Ranked test my sanity for sure, but I still think it is a slightly better version of pubs.

I can't keep up, and losing chevrons is demoralizing.  While I'm not particularly good, it's a mode for those that have the prime tanks, and get lucky on the dice roll.  I haven't had the rng luck lately.  So don't get excited about playing it...…..I'll have to settle to get my 25 bonds, one day at a time, through trashing mid tiers lol.  :)

Good luck dudes!

Losing Chevrons is a mistake by WG in the mode, But I guess it quickly eliminates those of us that are average players an don't have some of the power tanks.

Yes its a hell of a grind. And it causes you to have a stroke every other battle, or start drinking. I have stayed with it and may not get diddly but I have got a helluva lot of bonds though. Currently Division 1 Rank 7 for the moment, been bouncing between 6 and 8 for last 3 days.

yeah will not be participating...the team stacking is bad enough in the pubs, it's obnoxious in ranked

That's the main reason I don't participate in Ranked battles... that chevron system is sh*t.  You should not be losing progress in any game because the crap MM stuck you with a pack of dummies.

I've been drinking (too much), but my issue is I can't advance to get the nice bond loads...was at div 1, rank 7, now at 5...…..aggravating as hell.  The losing of chevrons is a bad idea!  I get that if you don't do well you don't advance, but to go backwards is unnecessary!  Does WG want people to play and spew through credits?

At this rate, if you don't want to encourage gameplay, I'll just go back to randoms, club mid-tiers and bank coin.

Counterintuitive isn't it?

Just ditch the mode and play something less toxic as modes like ranked only cater to a small portion of the player base that has those op tanks. WG could have made it to where those of lower skill played in their own league even if it meant getting less at least it would mean not getting into playing against unicums in their moms basements.

I'm having a thought here...

Ready?

OK!

If you're a casual, why the hell are you playing ranked?

Losing chevrons is the antidote for idiots going yolo in what is supposed to be a more competitive game mode. Mission accomplished.

Teams are all lemming now and now I see more lemming teams in pubs too. It is making the game more toxic.

if discouraging people to spew credits, mission accomplished!  camping is the meta for ranked, but good luck if you're on the low roll of the mm dice.

I regret not playing more in the very first week when I saw more of the unicum players playing because I felt like gameplay was better. Now it just feels like randoms, and I am not good enough to stop a failing team from failing.  I slipped back an entire rank and gave up.

I console myself with the fact that I think I was doing better in my Super Conq than I have in the past (which would not be hard!!), because a friend of mine hit me with a clue bat...  I think this experience did cure me of a phobia I had about practicing with my Xs to get better at them, so I will probably keep working at that.

Maybe it's not the best choice of words, but my use of the word 'casual' is with respect to how serious I take this game - a level of moderate competitiveness where I'm trying to improve at a slow steady pace, while trying to play everything and anything to keep my interest in the game enjoyable and fun for me (that's the 'scrub' part :) ).

The reality is, is that I'm not good enough to adjust to the game style of the ranked mode, and game the xp necessary to keep up. Going backwards through losing of chevrons vs not advancing because one has bad games (maintaining chevrons) seems to defeat the overall purpose of encouraging participation.

For whatever reason, I'm enjoying the challenge in ranked battles... As a casual scrub, I don't see it as something I might actually finish, but as an opportunity to test my mettle, and it's certainly proved to be that... I played three hours last night to gain four chevrons! I loved it!! It's brutal but I don't think it's unfair; it's RANKED, so it's meant to reward the best of the best... Good for those who manage to claw their way to rank 10 in division 1; I'm gonna keep trying until this season's over!!
