So if you can't hurt allies anymore, why does it still disqualify you from High Calibre?

I don't get it. I could maybe understand if just stunning an ally, which is still possible, would possibly disqualify you, but why should it still be the case that a non-damaging hit on an ally means even if you do as much damage as is needed for High Calibre, that you don't get the medal? What is the rationale behind that?

To make sure you check your fire.

Why. Friendly fire is gone, so unless you're in an arty it doesn't matter.

Friendly fire is still on in clanwars and training rooms.

Well then, why doesn't the medal restriction just apply to clanwars and training rooms then? Besides which, you can't even get the medal in clanwars and training rooms.

Maybe it's there to tell you, "Hey!  Watch that!  Just, because you can't damage them doesn't mean it's okay to shoot them."

How about that for a why?  Why would you be placing shots onto your team mates anyway?  You're wasting credits and ruining your hit percentage as a minimum and as a maximum, you don't get a shiny medal for superlative play.  Then again, if you keep shooting your team mates, that's not very superlative, is it?

So, the WHY is to reward players who are careful with those shiny awards over those who are less concerned with their aim.

Hope that helps.

Your first mistake is thinking WG takes their work seriously enough to spend time on details.

Holy chit captain obvious but what happens when you're at 5k dmg carrying a bunch of idiots and one of them blocks one of your rounds and messes up your medal. Lets reward shot blocking chitters the satisfaction of ruining the unicums awards. I'm not saying you're wrong. But you definitely aren't right.

They probably just forgot to remove it from the requirements but why worry about getting medals anyway? It's not like they do anything for you. It's like all these clowns that want to be given their 6th kill for a stupid medal, if you want it earn it.

And if someone does, what if he wastes his credits and is ruining his hit percentage (most important stat in this game ofc), you don't do any damage, you shouldn't be disqualified from getting a high caliber for something that literally does nothing.

Because you are still shooting at or hitting an ally. That even takes account for an involuntary ram or bumping into another tank that would have cause any kind of damage.

Even before removal of team damage, shooting an ally for no damage disqualified you from HC.

I presume the requirement exists to encourage trigger discipline instead of spray and pray, and while the potential worst case consequences of bad trigger discipline are much reduced, WG may have felt it was still worthwhile to encourage some trigger discipline.

That, or they simply forgot about it. *shrug*

If you directly shoot an ally, you are disqualified from it

It is there because trigger discipline is still an important concept and a requirement of the medal.

My guess is it's still a hit on the ally and all that other game code remains, they probably just replaced the pen or damage roll with a zero.

I wish they brought back team damage so that when you engage an enemy with TD fire support being smart enough to position downrange of the enemy will hold the support fire...if you are both moving and you are 75% covered their odds of hitting their friendly is high.

It has been nice working corners in a city without having an ally damage my ammo rack smacking the back of my turret.

Holy crap, Mr. Insulting, maybe the root core of your issue is your crap attitude?

Think about it.  No reason to be insulting, but you went there anyway, din't ya?

I COMPLETELY DISAGREE, so come up with a better rationale for continuing to play like a Crap Lord to your team mates.

How about that as a solution?
