WG should disband its balancing department. When we do a tank review we usually use pros and cons to make a list, let's do a pros and cons on T95/FV4201.

T95/FV4201

PROS:

  • Great overall mobility. High top speed, great power/weight ratio and nice terrain resistance.
  • Super tough turret, impossible to pen when it hulls down (Can be penned by 420 heat in top-left area if not hull down).
  • Great gun handling. Compared with 277, which has better gun handling than wz5a, 4201 has better moving dispersion, accuracy and aim time.
  • Great alpha combined with great dpm (better dpm than 277 but worse than 5a). I don't understand wg, it's a 120mm gun, why the f does it has 440 alpha??
  • Well- sloped upper plate. If not hull down, upper plate can be penned by heat rounds, impossible to pen when hull down, so you can trick opponents to shoot upper plate when hull down, just like obj140. No need to do it though since its turret is ridiculously tough.
  • Great view range, 410m.

So far, 4201 is similar to 277 and wz 5a, has the mobility to help meds take key position and can reloacte easily.

  • 4201 HAS 10 DEGREES GUN DEPRESSION. wthwg you can't put all good stats on ONE SINGLE TANK. Maybe you think 10 degrees gun depression is not a big deal. SC has it too, but it's slow, 4201 is fast. 50B has it too, but it has weak turret. KRV has 12 gun depression, but it has fooking 300 heat and moderate gun handling! Most importantly, those similar tanks who are able to take and defend key positions, 277, 5a and 430u does not have this great gun depression.

Now cons,

  • It has weak lower plate, but who doesn't...
  • Weak side but thick enough to do side-scrape (277 and 5a can only do reverse side-scrape)

To conclude, this tank is MBT.:P Best tank driven by best players. I know you guys worked hard to earn this tank, but I don't think a tank like this is good for the game, especially in modes like ranked battles. So like I said, balancing department is not doing their job. (obj2684: How come this guy doesn't get a nerf?)

T95 isn't that broken, its great when hull down, outside that, it gets penned like a pin cushion. 279(e) can get penned easy peasy if you shoot the upper plate, 2 good shots into the upper right, and ammo racked. people need to remember, 90% of the people with the tanks, are good players. don't blame them because the right-click auto-aiming nerds cant pen it at will, does take some brain work.

In response to this thread's title, "the problem with t95/chieftain" is that I don't have one in my garage.

so give better tanks for better players, so a unicum become a super unicum, and the red and green players just look how are stuck in the same winrate?

the t95/chieftain is far from be a good reward, becouse when you get the tank know 2 things one the tank can stand alone no matter what and 2 you had the skills to survive in 3vs1 or more, is hard play tier x when anyone are camping (the color don´t import) or the worst part just focus on do damage for the current event,

if come here and say "the tank is good and don´t need a rework" the main reason is becouse you have one on your garage

IMO, t95/chieftain is broken OP cause it has far better mobility then other heavies, small profile, stupid turret that has no weakspot AT ALL and a fast firing 440 alpha gun. Super conq. turret can be penned in gun mantlet, has a 400 alpha gun and it moves slowly like a heavy. Its not just the players that makes it works: its completely broken cause once it goes hulldown, there's no way to take it out unless you take a serious beating. If its hulldown, there is NOTHING to do against but leave it there. Put 3 of those dipstick tanks on the enemy team, none in yours, and Voila! Instant-loss.

People saying the t95/chieftain is weeker then or the same as Super conq. are numbnuts.

An S Conq could have done the same thing.

You can penetrate a s conqueror roof and lower plate with gold. You can't do it with the t95 though

after 30 battles with the obj, 277 i see how one single t95/chieftain can hold a 2 heavys, 2 TD´s, and 1 medium, without any kind of help, and even that, after sweep the floor with us, had enogh munition for kill 3 tanks with full HP.

or in the worst battles platoons just go and drowned becuse is more faster than try to take down a t95/chieftain.

i ask the question is to easy to play the chieftain?? or just is becouse the "skill of the player"

if a tank no matter what it is, can anchor against more than 2 tanks. thats completely a player skill problem with the tanks trying to push

a t95/chieftain 3 hours ago can handled a 2v1 close quarters combat situation without lose 1/4 of HP, and one time a obj 268v4 just conect a single shot before that was eliminated in one on one

even one of my friends just use the chieftain for do blocking damage and do 3k or more than that
his record was 6.798 of blocked damage with zero shots in return

for that i say the t95/chieftain is completely broken

sit in front of a chieftan and let him farm you. Big brain play. If you have any game knowledge you know how overmatching a flank works. If you’ve got 2 tanks against 1. You will win every time unless you bounce every shot like a mongaloid.

i love hitting them in my spgs, especially when im running full 2 key.  the problem is, is that they are a clan tank, and thats where they should stay

Puleeeeese give us a break.  The Chieftan is OP?  You should be concentrating on the 279e instead as it is much more able to do just that and more.  When you hear CC's on the EU and NA server bragging about how they can just sit out in the open, with the 279, and hold an area?  Your wasting your time.

Frankly they’re both a problem and are outliers in their particular design area.

The chieftain is a ridiculous ridge fighter and hull down tank.  Most face punching and critical terrain  on the current maps feature this kind terrain, plus it adds mobility.

The 279 is the pinnacle of ridiculous Russian troll armor.

They both need a bat taken to them but it’s unlikely to happen.

Since I've got the JPz E100, I've just started HEAT'ing through the problem. They usually move on somewhere else pretty quickly.

But they're definitely in need of a balance.

first i am not stupid to just parking in front of the chieftain
and second, the two players was doing circles around the chieftain and even doing that didn't work,

Once again, if you have TWO TANKS against ONE and still lose. You are getting outplayed incredibly hard. It’s a problem with the players not the tank they’re facing.

yes, that is the problem with the t95/chieftain, one single tank is hard to take down, 2 or more and the lose is near

If the Chieftain alpha was dropped to 400 (but maintains the same DPM) I think that would be an acceptable compromise that maintained the uniqueness of high-alpha fast heavies like the 5A and 277, while having less DPM and HP than the super conq. It's basically a hybrid anyway.
