So I used to play this game a few years ago, and I clawed my way up to a wn8 of about 1400. I wouldn’t say I was great, but at least above average. I switched to ships for a year or so, then dabbled in fortnite, before (gasp) giving up games altogether... Somehow, I got hooked on tanks again a few months ago, but I just suck now. It’s really frustrating. There are a couple new maps I had to figure out, but otherwise I feel like I should be doing better. My stats are spiraling outta control.  I just can’t figure out what I’m doing wrong now.
Any feedback would be greatly appreciated, though I would prefer constructive, even if the right answer would be to uninstall ...

Below is my four step process to getting good:

  • Step one give up on stats
  • Step two have fun
  • Step three .....
  • Step four profit

Focus on certain classes of tanks.  Don't use  < 3 full crew skills in anything tier 8+.  Equip your tanks to be competitive, use some gold, some gold consumables, etc.  Try also to play the meta tanks (if in doubt look around - good players play the meta tanks more).  Try to platoon more.

New map? not sure where to go - be a wing tank - pick a tank close to yours and go with that tank - try to help him/her and keep them alive.

If you never use crews with less then 3 skills at tier eight plus your never going to progress.  I've played every tank from 75% crews, 6th sense is nice to have but it's possible to go without.

Just pay a unicum to boost your stats. WONKA did it a lot. Just make sure you're not an officer in a clan....you'll end up getting everyone kicked and having some tool steal the clan name....be smart about it like CLAWS players!

Also make sure you don't change your password after you're done getting boosted.

Why would that prevent progression?  If your crews are better you're going to perform better and score more (progress faster).  They practically give away zero skill crews these days - you shouldn't be rolling into tier X or IX with less than 3 skills in every crew - like . . . ever.

Another tip - if you play a tank poorly - park it or sell it.   Play the tanks you do better in you will enjoy the game more.

Every time I come back from an extended break - the game has changed enough that it takes a while to get used to it again

Crew xp below tier eight and not in premiums is so dang slow it isn't worth the effort if you are on a free to play account.  Tier eight plus is the sweet spot for crew xp training.  It's not as big a deal if you sell a tank as you move down a line and just keep the same crew.  As you'd then have a crew with skills moving up, but if you want to keep a tank or two retraining another crew takes ages or a few million credits.  You must hate players like me that rolled most tanks without 6th sense at tier nine and ten since I didn't have a crew for it.

After a while you really get used to knowing if your going to be spotted or not, the only real exception is scout tanks.  Which pretty much need 6th to survive and do their jobs well.

Join a clan and platoon with a better player for a while.

You don't need to be super gold premium Unicum or have 3 skills on every single tank for Tier 8, 6th sense, camo, repairs, and you're fine, definitely use crew boosters and always have at least 90% crew though

when I came back my wn8 went down from 2500 to 1400 win rate 56 to 50 or 48. I been back a year I have barely gotten it back up ,I think a'lot of it is I do not care like I used too.I always had a goal of trying get all the tier 10's,but I would play some tank's that I was good in to balance out the wn8 ,and win rate,Now I don't care I just want finish that stupid goal I set for my self.Arty is the only tank I am skipping.Once I have done that who knows whats next, but your not the only one give it some time,It takes awhile to knock off the rust.

All good advise. Have fun and ignore the rude dudes that point out how crappy you are and how good they are.

We all are coming into this game with different skills and back stories.

When I have fun and not get stressed about stats, things seem to go better and I win more.

o7!

The meta seems to be meduims some are saying so I would suggest running something like a T54 Comet T44 or a centurion 1.Just good straight forward non niche tanks that work anywhere with no quirks with all the good crew skills that's what keeps my head above water.

Wheeled vehicles basically broke the game - it's all about fast "tanks" that are too fast to hit unless you manually aim 100% of the time.

So you now basically wait until they spot themselves out of the game and then start playing the round.

alot of the time in this game you're relying on teamates and more and mroe this isnt a team game anymore people cant be counted on i get flanked constantly form people not doing their jobs..if i play  bad i admit it but the problem with this game is the gutless people not doing what they should be...ive had huge losing streaks the last 3 days i cant even bring myself to login lately its just unplayable....eveyr group is the same theres no chance ot win from the start no point on even playing and its only getting owrse..its sad really because i liked this game..i dont base everything on stats but i myself like to see myself improve and the stats are a good indicator of myself improving.
