I would suggest to give new play 200 six sense directives to help them get a good start

also a set of camo net/binocular/repair box

Just sell the sixth-sense directive (or all directives) for reasonable prices in credits. New guys won't get stomped as bad, WG gains a new avenue to encourage spending. A win-win.

***Edit: I didn't realize that directives like sixth sense was going to be so expensive. I love the idea of buying directives for credits, but if we're trying to help new accounts then there's no way 20k per match is affordable.

Agreed, and that may not be enough.  Probably need at least 3000 for people under 3000 battles.

I think that the change is both good and bad.

Positive:

It is much easier to play new tanks with fresh crews.  6th sense is just too crucial these days.  As an alternative to simply having 6th sense as base capability, it is a good workaround.

Negative:

It gives players with 50million+ credits another way to boost their tank's performance.  This is bad for the game.

Positive:

There is only a single slot for directives, so it opens some interesting choices for boosting tank performances.  This is good for the game.

sixth sense directive is priced at 20k...per game. in common test. dont know if that is very useful to new players with few funds.

That's way too much for new players to reasonably be able to afford. If it cost similar to non-premium consumables then WG could have actually solved a problem. Or hell, would it really kill them to make just the sixth-sense directive free and equipped by default? You get the perk trained on your commander, and then you have the practical option of buying a different directive in its place.

The kicker is that once you buy them you can't sell them from your depot like equipment and consumables.

Another way to keep players from saving credits. that's what all I used my Bonds for. I never saw the point of buying Adv Equipment.

LAME!

Seems like something they should just scale the pricing on. Low cost for new players, higher cost for experienced players to promote the use of the perk.

I don't care what the hell they do with directives, they promised "Free 6th sense?" in last year's video around Christmas and i hope this isn't their idea of a replacement for it.. :sceptic:

Technically the crew books gives every 100% crew a skill. Which most players pick 6th sense.

While true, you're assuming that a brand new player has any sense about what is and what isn't anything about this game.  The tutorials are garbage, there is more valuable and more easily digestible information and guides on 3rd party sites (which is a sad fact not singular to WarGaming but which is still sad), and, while there is a pop up, there isn't anything that 100% directs a new player to the Boot Camp.  Plus, even when you finish Boot Camp, you're STILL not prepared for the environment in which you're getting thrown.

Not for nothing, but this game has one of THE WORST new player experiences, bar none.  And, despite being told this year after year, nothing gets done.  Would handing out 200 free 6th Sense directives, that activate automatically, or simply providing 6th Sense as standard, for the first 6 tiers, be that financially game breaking?  If so, you're in a lot more trouble than you think.

Agreed. and also agreed on what Trauglodyte said. Not enough is being done to help new players, plus nothing is being done to discourage seal clubbing.

I have 3 friends I'm trying to get into this game. Each of them is around tier 5-6. None of them have 2 million credits to spare, and even if they did, the crew books only work when your crew is trained to 100% proficiency (which doesn't usually happen while grinding until tier 5-6). The crew books are a nice credit sink, but they're not very helpful to new players at all.

If you pick 6th sense as your 6th perk, is it still "6th sense", or does it just become "sense"?  :P

On my EU account I'm basically a F2P player with less than 3k battles to my name of which around 750 is after I actually learned to play the game here on the US server

I've unlocked and bought several tier 6 tanks and I've unlocked a couple of tier 7.

Even with my skills from 25k games on this server I'm struggling to make enough credits to buy and equip my unlocked tier 7 tanks and I can assure you that I don't have 2 mill spare credits for crew books

Don't get me wrong, I happen to think the crew books are a great idea and for somewhat experienced players on a Premium account they're one of the best hings to happen to this game since I started playing but for newer players ..... they don't do much if anything at all. You guys really need to to look into ways to improve the experience for unexperienced players because I can't see them having much fun and 6th sense would go a long way to improve things

You even included the question mark in your quote, indicating that "Free 6th sense" was not a certainty even then.

While I agree that this is a good idea for newer players, this is WG we are talking about.

They will either mess it up or try and figure out a way to squeeze more short term profit at the expense of gameplay. It is a battle between incompetence and greed.

Since the forum player base struggles frequently in the battle between ignorance an stupidity seems like a marriage in the making.

Plus, if they didn't have you helping them, I imagine that they'd do exactly what I did, which was riding 50% crews for all tanks until they got to tier 7 or so.  I didn't know any better and didn't have the credits or wherewithall to fix it.  I get that deriving meaning from text is difficult and they have little to no power-of-interaction with Minsk.  But, there comes a time when the WG community folks need to stop being so freaking daft.
