I played this tank for the first time in a while and BRUH! This tank is so held back by it's cupola. It's so freaking easy to hit and as a heavy tank you can't play close quarters combat and block nearly any damage. It's so frustrating cause the tank has a lot of qualities I like and it feels nice to play besides that damn cupola. It's straight crazy to have tank held back by a singular massive issue, this ONE thing makes this tank junk.

 

I think back when the cupola wasn't a weak point the tank was OP, at the time! Being the main point here. But with T95/Chieftains, 279s, Conquerors and many more tanks that have well armored turrets I think this tank is actually in need of it's armor returned again. I'd say it would be more competitive and balanced now days in the game then it was before. Cause at this time the tank is trash, you have to play a more support role or play like a lil *B cause you can't get close anymore without getting punished for it.

 

God forbid the American tech tree have a competitive heavy in it, OH NO can't have that only Russia and Britain apparently can have those tanks.(I don't count the T57 cause it falls into a nee-sh category) This kind of stuff really bothers me cause there is so many tanks in this game but only a handful are actually *meta* and it's so boring and mundane to see the same tanks in every battle... over and over again, because most all other tanks are a handicap to play or just plane out trash.

 

This is mostly just a rant but why you even do this WG? Heavies are my favorite tanks to play and the ones I enjoy playing the most are the ones that just can't compete. But I like them because they're different all the meta heavies are the same and that's so boring. I have the 279 and it's legit on the low end of my favorite list. It's boring to play, it's not a fun tank to play but it's so good! Why is that, give some love to the other heavies.

A wargaming employee said on the forums recently that they aren't doing any more tank balance changes until they figure out the situation with premium ammo and tank HP changes unfortunately.  I thought the previously buffed T110E5 was fine and if anything they only needed to make minor changes to make it balanced, not nerf it into uselessness.

I agree with OP, the issue isn't weak spots per se, it's the ginormous top hat that crests every hill before the gun does. 

This tank was never deployed so they could easily just remove the .50 cal turret completely. No one would complain.

As for the T-57: it is more of a TD- at least when facing the Russian super duper heavies and various reward heavies.

Why can't they have it so when the cupola gets hit it's a percentage. Why should you get 800 damage just because a piece on the top of the tank gets hit.

The Israeli Army used Patton M48's in combat in 1967. They found that when the cupola was hit the entire thing was torn off the turret and often, the commander was decapitated, but the tank stayed in action.   So they were first to remove the cupola and replace them with normal, low profile hatches. This worked so well that when the US Army developed the M48A5 they removed all of the MG turrets for a copy of the Israeli hatch, and new production M60A3's also deleted the MG turret.

Unfortunately, this will never happen.  One, because it's not russian, and two, because it's the common sense and correct thing to do.   That philosophy does not exist in WG dream world. 

 

Is the tank broken ?   If it's russian, make it OP, otherwise, nerf it.

Is the tank OP ?  If it's russian, buff it, otherwise, nerf it into oblivion.

Is the tank popular and fun to play ?   Nerf it into oblivion or completely remove it from the game.

I’m sorry. I’m sure this is my fault. I used to love my E5 so much. I’ve never had the heart to sell it. Every so often, I spend 800 gold to put a crew in it, play it a few rounds before coming to the conclusion that it still sucks. Then spend another 800 gold to put that crew in something else... WG won’t fix the E5, because they just want my money!

The E5 definitely needs some love that's for sure. Or just retire it and replace it with the XM-803

There's your answer, give it a researchable turret without the MG cupola.

I actually don't think the M103 would need SUPER buffed. It's already pretty decent sans weak spots, and kinda poor mobility. Guns already pretty damn good all considered, armor isn't inherently flawed like the German tank. Just get rid of the weak spots and give it the HP, and it certainly wouldn't be the worst T10 heavy at any rate.

Seriously? The powercreep isn't going away WG.... It's only getting worse.
