Tankers, we've got a new marathon event kicking off this weekend for the M54 Renegade.

With two branches, one for merit and one for committment, test your skills in the Renegade challenge and earn this awesome Tier VIII US Heavium that our Community Contributors have lovingly dubbed  the "Mini T110E5"

If you can't finish all the stages of the event, you'll still get a 10% discount off the purchase price for each stage that you complete. If you complete 7 stages you'll get a 70% discount, etc.

I've heard that the M54 is actually pretty well-balanced while still being quite fun to play. If you want a Tier VIII US Heavy crew trainer with a bit more mobility than the T26E5, the M54 Renegade is a solid choice.

For all the details, including a complete mission list, check out the article on our news portal.

Curious how it plays? Check out a review  from one of our new Community Contributors, 13Disciple!

It'll be a nice to get some goodies for just playing the game, but I'm not sold on this tank when I've got a T26E5 already in the fleet.  More alpha for a giant, tumor of a weakspot.  This tank garners a decided maybe from me.

I've watched several hours of CC-streamer game play (No, NOT Clause).

I've watched them test it via many mistakes, and their opinion is ...

This tank is Not for the cutting edge of game play.

It is definitely NOT a brawler, even at it's own tier.

If support tanks are where your comfort zone is, then it should be a good fit.

Thanks for introducing a new set of missions for this American heavy. I won’t be getting the tank, but for all the players who have this much time to put into WOT it seems like a decent tank. Good luck to all in their grind.

Looks good to me. The tank looks fun while being relatively well balanced, and getting it for free or at a huge discount is awesome.

Another gg WG!

I don't think support tanks are for me.  I am required to play like a god in order to get a win these days with nothing to support from my teammates.  I'll grind for the goodies because that's just me playing, but nothing else for this mediocre tank.

The only thing that Wargaming plans to offer us that's any good is going to be the Holiday Boxes.  Everything else is just smoke and mirrors...

Considering how the E5 has been so power-creeped, that's probably an accurate moniker

My wife would leave me if I put in the effort to complete this marathon.

It looks like a completely brutal grind.

Grinding tier 8 prems for the commitment path means grinding 250k experience. Base experience! What would this be, like 300 games? In 10 days? I average 700-800 base xp in my favorite tier 8s. And it's not actually 25k experience a night. IIRC you only get access to one stage a night, which means the final stages will be 40-50k experience grinds.

Going for the skill path means tier 9/10 which will be spendy but potentially faster, especially since the top xp/damage parts count results from losing games. I often find myself on top in losing games, especially in meta tanks.Still, the final 5 stages are completely painful looking, even if you are having a good night.

I don't really see this reward tank being particularly dominant. It's decent but with a huge weakspot that will peek over every ridge line before your gun barrel. It's certainly not worth the effort that it would take.

Will we be able to complete multiple missions on the same day or are we limited to one mission per day for the 10 days? I'm asking because I'll be able to play quite a bit over the weekend but next week it's back to business.

That tank looks horribly mediocre. The poor dispersion stats with 2.5 aim time and a massive tumor means you're going to get hit any time you try to poke out and fire. If you want me to grind my butt off, you need to make the tank snap balance in two (e.g. EBR, Defender, etc).

I did Progetto, Su 130, C AX, TS5 marathons but this looks too difficult and tank is not that great. I think I'll pass this one.

I've only logged one battle in the Renegade so far, so I can't really share my opinion on it but:

Several of my CC's have been really happy with it - some like it more than others but tier-for-tier I'd say it fares better than the E5 does. There does seem to be a consensus among them that it doesn't feel particularly over or under-powered.

The grind is definitely, well, grindy. But with many getting time off on Friday for Thanksgiving weekend, I think we'll see a lot of folks getting up to about stage 6 or 7 which brings the price down to something pretty reasonable.

I was really happy with the AE phase1 and hoped that future american tanks might not have the silly hatch up top that is so huge it makes the tank garbage.  Looks like wg went back to giving american tanks that huge weakness.  Why even bother making anything but russian tanks at this point?

Maybe Wargaming will sell mission boosters for this event so that the grind will be more realistic, you never know.

as always you will get plenty of folks who complain how bad it is , a tier 8 premium with 226 pen , at a discount/for free

Life goes on, trolls will be forgotten, whats worse, the trolls themselves will also forget they complained about

the hatch makes the tank garbage, but not a word about how no hatch at AE phase makes your tank OP in the same manner, we hush on that dont we

youre a kid and you tend to have no perspective on anything, i understand that

Exactly!

I wonder if this was an oversight by the US localization team or the main developers...
