My question is under this video about 2 hours ago.  My name on youtube is Ammopoint.  He (WOT Movies Channel) replied about an hour ago.  His reply to me  was a highlighted reply.

Sorry I can't do better than that. I am not tech savvy. I can probably take a screen shot if needed.

I screen captured the conversation. Can we not upload pics from our pc to the forums?

Yes I understand that. However, Last year when they announced the date of the beginning of the holiday ops, the first article stated exactly what was in the paid for loot boxes.  Or what was guaranteed in them. Now they very well may still have gold in them. But without the confirmation of it, it is a bit worrying.

No, the Holiday Ops announcement article said nothing about the content of the boxes: https://worldoftanks...mechanics-2019/

What you are thinking about is the lootbox announcement article: https://worldoftanks...oot-boxes-2019/

That last one hasn't been posted yet for this year.

IDK. I tried with no success. Will try later when I am not so busy.

Ah, I must have messed that up. Hopefully we will see that article in the next couple days. After seeing the youtube comment we have been discussing I am thinking gold will be in every single one of them.

I don't see why they would change their basic concept.

And if they do, the best way to protest is with your wallet by keeping it closed.

I agree after the highlighted response on the World of tanks North America youtube channel I think we will get the gold in each box too.

True. However, it just goes to show how many people, myself included, do not trust WG. Sad really. Hopeuflly in 2020 WG's goal will be to establish trust with their player base.

Dude. Grow up. This happens EVERY day ALL day. Soda bottles come with a code for a chance at a prize. Candy bars actually do come with similar codes. Big Macs come with a sticker that may give you a free fry or a new car.

I bought a loaf of bread for $2.99 last week that gave me a chance of two free "Frozen II" tickets.  So What? Why don't you go on a tear about Nature's Own causing me to "gamble" on getting those tickets?

In the eyes of the the law, this is fine. Absolutely legal. Wanna scream at Pepsi about people gambling? Go ahead. But it is not according to the law, and that is what matters.

By definition, you're taking that chance. You're entered into that drawing, taking a chance that you may receive a prize. While it's not roulette or Blackjack, it's still taking a chance.

If you're just going to make up definitions for gambling so that your can say you win, then just go ahead and say you won. None of your attempts to define the loot boxes as gambling fall under any legal definition of gambling. You can make up anything you want and say it's gambling, apparently you have a problem with being wrong. Don't let that stop you. You keep redefining things to suit you. WG will still keep selling them and you can call them gambling, win win.

I never said it was legally classified as gambling. Nor have I tried to prove it was illegal, it's taking a risk in hopes of a larger reward which is the definition of gambling per the dictionary.

Once again, there is no hoping.

What your saying:

"In hopes of a larger reward."

What it is:

"In guarantee of a larger reward."

Oddly enough, those types of contests are generally regulated, and have to post stuff like odds and conditions for entering and such(in the USA at least,  most of those contests you are legally entitled to one free entry if you jump through the proper hoops).

WG is not(yet) required to post odds, nor are they regulated afaik.  They'll probably give us all at least one free entry without jumping through very many hoops, though.

They also (mostly) have a page that can show your chances of winning. The Canadian National Lottery is 1/292,000,000 and that's taken from their site. They openly show that you have a very low chance of winning the jackpot.

I remember a site posted the statistics they found for the lootboxes, but WG never did so. And only WG would know the inputted numbers for the higher level rewards.

And I said keep redefining the argument so you can pretend to win. We'll all pretend you won, again win win. You're wrong, you've been wrong from the start and you can't try to redefine your way out of it. But don't let that stop you from being wrong. You're wrong, WG will keep selling them and you're still wrong. Thanks for playing.

Them not having a guaranteed value is a legal way for them to basically do with the boxes as they please and you have 0 recourse. Not that you ever had any, but now you cannot even complain about getting squat.

The first time they did this, the payout was so amazing that they changed them 2 or so days into the event.

The 2nd time they ran this, last year, they changed it so that you only really got the good tanks and most gold by buying the big bundles. In the small bundles, you would get hardly anything other than to cover the cost of your money.

This year? Lots of suckers. You have been warned but ppl never listen

Ah, the joy of language.  So much vagueness.  Guess that's why contracts and laws tend to be so long winded, so as to remove as much vagueness as possible.

I, for one, will refrain from sharpening my pitchfork until they are actually released instead of speculating.

So you'd actually keep a dull pitchfork around?

Besides, why sharpen it?  It'll hurt more if it's dull....

Whiners whined about no gold or "guarantees" in the loot boxes turned out to be nonsense.

Example, for the $100 purchase of large loot boxes, my haul was 28,750 gold.  To purchase 25,000 gold on the WoT store, the current cost is $99.  Just for gold.

But there is more, my loot boxes had lots of other cool stuff, especially those premium tanks now in my garage and premium time.

Its a great desl.
