When aiming an SPG you sometimes need to aim short of or longer than where a tank is (depending on terrain and the trajectory of the particular SPG's shells).

When you have a tank that is close to the edge of the map you cannot aim properly as the game prevents you from aiming outside of the edge of the map.  This often results in an inability to properly aim on the tank or only aiming short of the tank (and getting only splash damage).  This is particularly a problem for those SPG's that don't have splash (lower calibre SPG's such as the LeFh) which need to actually HIT the tank to do damage.

Allow SPG's to aim beyond the edges of the map.

This is a long time issue.
Maybe it isn't resolved yet because they have to make a huge changing on the game program (inside the borders everything is already calculated, but to aim/mark something further the map border is a completely different thing. The map itself have a size that needs to be loaded when entering the battle... To have even further map terrain means an even bigger map file).
I normally use the battle assistant view mode, but when it's near the border I have to switch to the bird's view mode.

Switch to over head view. Trajectory view is limited by the borders.
