Howdy Boom Jockeys!

As some have posted, Platoon invites are broken at this time, but dynamic platoons in battle still work as normal.

You can try some count ins with friends, get in the same battle and then join a platoon that way.

Once a Toon is created then you can invite as normal from the garage.

Our Team is currently working on getting this issue resolved as soon as possible.

Platoons aren't on the "fritz". Platoons were overperforming, so Wargaming wisely nerfed the ability to make one.

Playing with friends is a huge part of this game, it's a huge problem.  I hope you're joking.

I basically play this game exclusively with you knuckleheads I call "friends", so not being able to get a platoon going brings the fun factor from like a 6.7/10 down to a 2/10

but I haven't posted in this thread at all until just now D:

Small update: we're doing some testing on our end and there is a potential workaround (albeit a really inconvenient one) - if you perform a clean reinstall, it may resolve the issue.

Some of us were able to successfully create platoons after a clean reinstall but considering the game client is a pretty hefty download, definitely far from ideal. We'll provide an update as soon as we've got some news to share.

So, on a vanilla client, I did a test and was able to invite and be invited from the friends list, chat window, and the invite button in the platoon window.

Are players not able to invite using mods?  Or vanilla?  Or what method are they using to invite?  Clan chat?

Just tested tooning and it works for me too. Running vanilla plus my camouflage mod (which does nothing to any game functions.)

Thought: this might be the result of some corruption in the cache files that users can clear.

Block Quote

The phrase is now a common American expression meaning that some mechanism is malfunctioning or broken: “The washing machine’s on the fritz again” (the British and Australian equivalent would be on the blink). However, when it first appeared — about 1902 — it meant that something was in a bad way or bad condition. Early recorded examples refer to the poor state of some domestic affairs, the lack of success of a stage show, and an injured leg — not a machine or device in sight.

Others feel it must be connected with Fritz, the nickname for a German soldier. It’s a seductive idea. There’s one problem, though — that nickname didn’t really start to appear until World War One, about 1914, long after the saying had been coined.

William and Mary Morris, in the Morris Dictionary of Word and Phrase Origins, suggest that it may nevertheless have come from someone called Fritz — in the comic strip called The Katzenjammer Kids. In this two youngsters called Hans and Fritz got up to some awful capers, fouling things up and definitely putting the plans of other members of the strip community on the Fritz. The strip appeared in newspapers from 1897 onwards, so the dates fit rather nicely. But there’s no evidence that confirms it.

My Clan chat is working again... unfortunately platoons are very broken

I hope that gets fixed before the Holiday break or 1.7 is going to Epic failure.

Please WOT invest in a test server before updating patches is my Christmas wish you should be bringing in a very large pile of rubbles this Friday. Please Wargaming Minsk do not buy another Mansion, Lamborghini, Golf Jet or small Island - just get a test server to test patches before they are released.

Merry Christmas WOT
