This does sound like a good idea, but I see one flaw. What if the person damaged is too hardheaded/ignorant/spiteful to admit or even realize he ran across someone's line of fire and refuses to forgive?
Maybe a better system for determining friendly fire accidents from intentionals would be a code which checks to see if there is an enemy on the other side of the wounded tank within a direct trajectory path. If yes: No fine. If no MASSIVE fine.
Just brainstorming here, and my idea does nothing about ramming damage. Maybe they could implement both and the ramming could be the forgive button? Still not where I think we need to be but it looks like the idea is becoming more workable.

We need a Forgive Button that pops up when you are team killed.
Just a Yes or No. If no.. then no penalty is charged to the offender.

Simple change that needs to be implemented due to splash damage and a whole ton of accidental kills that happen every day. No one likes to look like a TKer when they aren't.

Yea, this is a good idea. There's a big difference to getting hit by a stray arty shell or splash damage and a real TK driving up behind you and shooting you in the butt point blank.
I'd like to 'forgive' nearly every piece of team mate damage i've received. (except for the bad drivers who track me at the start of the game lol)

I fully agree with this. I've done stupids moves sometime and move into a teammates shot only to be one shotted by them. I always just laugh it off and wish I could keep them from getting find cause of my stupid move. There's even times arty saved my life killing a guy but because of the splash damage I took he got fined. I'd so forgive that.

I also agree, like in Counterstrike. Press 1 to forgive, press 2 to slay.

I agree. it does not happen often but i too have been in sniper mode when some one i could not see comming cuts in front of me just as I fire.

Yes this is a good idea. I have run in front of a tank and gotten killed. It was my fault and he shouldn't have been penalized. Also the other way around too.

Yep I like the idea. Plus I would like to add an addendum, how about adding a kick option, for those extremely annoying kids that love to harass other tankers.

Definitely, the game can't tell the difference between idiocy and bad luck, but the players can.
