Does each wheel seriously have it's own HP, with each able to absorb a large amount of damage, or do they have super wheels where a single one can do it?

I had loaded a HESH round in my 4005 thinking I was going to shoot a 183 in the face, he died, and the lone remaining EBR 90 on the other team made a hero run on a BC25t that was on reload.. Shells in the tube, may as well send it.. EBR hits a rock, dead stop, 15m away, BLAM! I know what you're thinking, EBR completely deleted from the game, right?

Well you're WRONG! This LIGHT tank with 16mm of side armor, and 25mm of side turret armor takes 329 damage. It's 4 wheels absorb just shy of 900 damage, heck it might have been a single wheel that absorbed 900 damage. The stats at the end just say suspension damage, but that is absurd. a 1300 min damage round with 5m burst radius and a tire absorbs 900 of it's damage.

Guess next time my scrub rear end should just keep HE or AP loaded..

or just not auto lock them and aim higher since the wheel hit boxes count as 35mm of spaced armor

Wheels are not a hit box. 329 was the splash damage.

I was aimed at his turret

Why would you use HESH/HE against a wheeled vehicle? The FV4k5 has the best standard ammo pen in the game, 310. That's like firing a Skorpion G with all gold, but with an alpha of 1.2K. HESH seems like a waste, yeah that extra 500 potential alpha, but you sacrifice nearly 100mm of pen. Plus if it doesn't pen, and does some splash you just dunked 7K credits.

I hit a clown car dead on that was driving straight at me with a KanJpz and it threw up a little shield icon.  I wasn't able to penetrate an armored car, it was too strong.

Now I see why the purples say they enjoy playing the things, they are like playing the game with some broken developer tool.

Wheeled tanks as meched are broken, it’s clearly, painfully obvious.

If you owned one of these you would understand that HESH is what needs to be loaded. AP is way to unreliable with RNG and a derpy gun, and more often than not bounces, and with that reload time and reverse speed it means your back in the garage.

And to the OP, yes, the hit boxes are broken AF.

The wheels are too strong. Any cannon round that touches it should put it out of action.  But let's face it. These things are testing the waters for some kind of move to a fast paced bouncy blink and you'll miss it sort of game play that we see in FPS games like fortnite.

Point 1:  Because you "aimed at his turret" doesn't mean you actually HIT his turret.

Point 2: You also said in your post at the top "and a tire absorbs 900 of it's damage". Look at the EBR 90 pic below:

The two wheels nearest the turret you aimed at, have NO TIRES, they are giant steel discs of spaced armor.

Circon just released a video a couple hours ago where his wheels absorb 6 or 7 shots in one game.

Still stupid no matter what excuses you make that the 4005 did not completely obliterates the wheelie. Just shows how stupid they are.

My suggestion to you (as well as the OP) is get the Battle Hits Mod so that you can observe where your shots went.

As for you, you likely hit the gun or the wheel instead of the hull.

It's not much different than me in a regular tank shooting the side of a light or heavy or any tank for that matter that should easily penetrate and hitting a track and doing 0 damage... it says the same thing.  Suspension damage.  It's just one of those RNG things.  Why should wheelies be any different?  They already get deleted extremely easily.

You still just dunked 7K, and doing 400 damage might as well be a bounce. Most people attempt to shoot heavily armoured targets with HESH, if it doesn't go through, what was the point of the extra 6K credits? It wouldn't matter if you shot an AP or HESH, with that (new) reverse speed and reload, you're dead anyway.

I hope to own one soon, but I might not have a good crew for it yet.

The wheels are magical HE shields and there actually isn't much hull behind them to hit, it is known:

There many videos and explanations of what ammo to use and where not to shoot it. Hesh, HE and Premium ammo are the worst things you can use while shooting them.

Just a PSA, but tier 10 in general is not a credit making proposition, especially the HESH Barn. You will find yourself pulling out your hair using AP after bouncing it off the near unagled turret side of a Maus and realizing if you had have had HESH loaded you at the very least would have gotten 500 or so damage. I used to load 50/50 AP and HESH knowing where weak spots were. Didn't make any difference as the AP would fly wild even point blank in the city, even with a good crew. There comes a point where you either do lower damage and save credits or loose credits but get the damage...and sometimes the hyucks when you 1 shot a heavy.

Either way you’ll enjoy it.
