Tankers, 

The Common Test for Update 1.7.1 is now Live!
 

This update will bring in some pretty cool new content and introduce some balance tweaks for Encounter Battles on certain maps. Specifically, certain spawn locations on these maps are being adjusted so that both teams arrive at the main chokepoints more or less at the same time. We've noticed that on these maps, it's quite common for one side of the map to take the advantageous positions in Encounter Battles first, so these changes are aimed at balancing that out. (Additionally, we are adding Cliff to the map rotation for Encounter Battles)

 

The update will also introduce the IS-2-II, IS-3-II, and ST-II, the new Dual-Barreled Heavy Tanks joining the U.S.S.R. Tech Tree.

Finally, we are also introducing a new quality-of-life feature: Complex Equipment Demount Kits! Basically these will be single-use consumables that you can find in your rewards for Merit, and they allow you to dismount a piece of Complex Equipment without paying the 10 Gold cost or destroying the equipment.

LOL @ the new quality-of-life feature. It strikes me as a little over the top for anything that happens in a game. :)

Also where can i find the actual changes that were made to maps? is there a list? or do we just run around and find out ourselves, i don't get it.

I'm trying to find out if we can get screenshots of the new spawn locations, but as a general rule of thumb, spawns that are currently at a disadvantage are being moved closer to the action so that both teams arrive at main chokepoints more or less at the same time.

....except on Mines. Mines stays unbalanced on Encounter for years without tweaking.

yeah it's not live, I can log in to live server just fine.

Need fixe of gold round to stop get spamed people only use of special ammo nothing else very annoying of power pen. and stop to put tanks to much up of 2 tier so anoying

What is the time period of the common test?

 

Does it close/end? 

 

If so when?

 

Is there a standard length of the server being open?

So thoughts on ST2.......... I hate to say it but its crap!

pros.

double barrels are fun

alfa is good

turret is ok except the tumor 

lots of hp

cons

ground resistance is horrible making it 30-35 max not the reported 40

tumor on the turret

cannot side scrape if it life depended on it

and prem pen is garbage compared  to the other 122s like the is4 or obj 260 at 240 pen so clan wars is out of the question

 

basically it feels like a slow sponge that wont wont be able to fight any of the heavy armored tanks so only people to get it are ones who think it is a good tank till they get it and those who (like me) will get because its unique

also compared to the obj 703 2 it is garbage lol 703 can actually perform like a heavy tank and i feel the st2 is going to fail at it.

I mean... its literally just an ST-I with two guns... the armor is pretty much identical, meaning its perfectly capable of sidescraping. The ST-I is a pretty good heavy tank, and I see the ST-II being pretty ok as well.

i agree should have a lil more armor but also have the mobility also . needs a tad bit quicker aiming time then perfect . now if they would make arty a litlle better then game would alot more fun than everyone crying bout getting hit by the spg  if have to sit in the open to get shot its your fault !!

My thoughts about the double barreled branch:

- The branch is quite balanced. No bigger caliber/alpha damage is needed as the shotgun mode compensates it.

- Really happy that they made the dashed lines in the reticle more visible when one barrel is blocked.

- It would be nice if they change the default key for the "fire a salvo" to the one used for siege mode on the swedish TDs. Also, add the message at the beginning of the match. Using the same key (LMB) as single firing brings a slightly delay.

- The only things I would improve on the ST II are: slightly increase the lower plate armor and mobility (traverse and turret traverse).

You can remap the salvo button yourself in the settings.

I know you can remap the key but for some players it may take some time to figure it out. From match 1 I felt the slight delay and it was until match 3 or 4 that I remapped the key.
