Howdy Boom Jockeys!

Unlike most of World of Tanks tests in the past, there hasn't been much motivation to complete them. This is a trend that might be changing with some of the newest and biggest changes happening to WoT since 1.0 dropped.

Here is the video with all the changes announced.

If you haven't participated in any tests for WoT. I highly encourage that you take a day or some battles to try this one out.

We get a fair amount of players voicing their passionate opinions about game balance, arty, fixing the game, pay to win stuff, and here is a wonderful opportunity to fill out a survey and weigh in.

Participating in this test also grants you a badge and some in-game premium time.

I will personally judge you for making requests/changes to the game if you don't have that particular badge next to your name :P.

Premium Shells = higher pen & less damage is good, but shells should have NOTHING to do with cost effectiveness; shell choice should purely be a tactical decision, and should not be impacted by cost.

Its not that I dont agree with you, but this is part of the business model for economy stabilization and credit sink, what would you replace it with?

Will this test be available for Mac users, or are we still persona non grata?

Seriously? Pausing the download starts it over? Guess WG only wants a certain class of players on the new balance test?

They already are taking care of that by selling the exclusive tanks and now removing a large chunk of the tech tree for credits.  Along side this they made the most cost effective shell (HE) now the most useless, and in a single blow rendered all the British TDs that depend on HESH irrelevant.
I completely agree with moogleslam.  Ammunition choice should be purely tactical, not economic.  I also wonder if reducing the damage inflicted by Premium Ammo isn't going to have the unintended consequence of just increasing the "Gold Spam" as now you have to shoot the gut 30-50% more to kill him?  THAT's where the imbalance to the economy will come in.  It will become impossible to do enough damage to make a profit in credits without shooting Gold, but by shooting gold, now you have to spend way more, negating the profit.

Go ahead and balance the ammo types.  (stop the insanity of non-pen HE/HESH), and remove ALL shell costs (or make them all the same).

I agree-- if special ammo is going to be a tactical choice and have less damage for more pen, it should not cost more credits than the "standard" ammo.

Not ONE thing ANYONE in the NA Server can/will say will even be READ by WGRU.  Test for your own purposes and hope the Russian playerbase makes all the right complaints.

I agree as well

It really is the perfect Idea tho, More pen - less DPM

Gold spammer will be stuck with lower dpm, very cool with me. And they don't care about the cost, so reducting the cost will only help players who use it situationally.

I tried test and sandbox, was kinda of interesting until you realized everybody was gold spamming or mountain goating or Yoloing.  Not interested in doing it again.

Agreed. The whole point was to do away with the concept of a 'premium shell' altogether and have all shell types be balanced on a level playing field. Not to mention that if gold shells have less alpha relatively speaking, that's a buff to tanks with good armor. Selling high-pen rounds for cheap prices is a necessary counter to this problem. WG already has tons of other credit sinks (crew books for instance, which were actually a good idea), they don't need ammo to be a credit sink.

Other points of interest are that I hope the new statistics have more flexibility for the player to choose which stats are recorded, and when they're reset. We'll see how that turns out. As of the low tier HP buffs, I'm indifferent. Simplifying the tech trees? Why? What on earth for?

As of the HE changes, I just don't get the point of removing pen altogether. The most valuable purpose of HE is in penetrating thin armor, and now that's gone. As of the other miscellaneous purposes, I have a hard time predicting that these will appreciably improve but testing will confirm. Interesting that they're making a point of leaving the KV-2 alone, why is that the only exception? What about all the other tanks that rely on HE? What about tanks with HESH or HEP for that matter?

And then there's that statement of "arta as an essential part of WoT", which is the biggest joke I've heard in years. Arta was never necessary, it was a nuisance to simply be tolerated. Why would it now become any more necessary or integral than before?
