I'm only asking this because YouTube recommended me a video that was posted on April 1  2015. After doing some diving on what I could find, Wargaming had a web page and everything for the Modern Tanks. Was this all abandoned due to the developer's wanting to keep the game as a Post Ww2 , WW2 , and Coldwar era game?

Like a lost landmine, it keeps claiming victims years after the war has ended.

Again. I know.April 1 , April fools. Again I used to play alot of other Online games that still released update videos on April first that was implemented into the game and still remains in the game till this day.  Again. Its just a question im asking if it is a possibility if this is still a idea wargaming has or if it was Just abandoned.

April 1st is know as April Fools Day, where you try to trick people into believing something impossible: like Taco Bell buying Liberty Bell, Mars to appear bigger then the Moon or WOT adding modern day tanks.  It's a joke not an idea.

WoT used to put out a joke vid or announcement every April 1st. Don't remember if they did last year or not.

Wow, even when told he got fooled he keeps at it. I guess April 1st isn't the only fool's day for this guy. Hey I hear you can buy a bridge, look it up on google, it's totally true. Good to see WG's target demographic is still around.

Pretty sure OP is aware that it's an April Fools gag. Going through the question, I'm really uncertain that MBTs would be a thing in the future.

Previously, they joked about tanks having weird modules like T29 hull + Tiger I turret. Surprisingly, this thing made it to the consoles(WoTM is a magikal place lmao) and we have our slight adaptation in the form of Steel Hunter. Ther may or may not have a chance for MBTs. WG in general could be unpredictable. The last promise they broke as I can recall is in WoWs about the 460mm gun being the biggest gun they would introduce and now they throw in the 510mm.

Only time can tell if we are going to have modern tanks for regular or special modes

Disclaimer: I am by no means working, representing or have connections with the development team. These are just my thoughts as a fellow player. Keep it classy, guys

Knowing the crazy things Wargaming has done Like what I have been told for Wot Blitz , Warships , even the console versions , Modern Tanks would be a interesting addition in my opinion

Also look at the source not just the date. That is the EU servers website. A much bigger target to fool and a lot easier seeing how most of them are fools.

We have a history of releasing some type of gag on April 1st pretty much every year. There are no plans to add post-cold-war era vehicles to World of Tanks at this time.

But who knows? Never say never, right? ;)

Now that you mention it, Warcraft used pandas as an April Fool's joke, then later made them into a fully playable race, didn't they?  Ok...ok...point made...

I've heard a rumor that a new line of ATAT Walkers is coming out on April 1st.  It will be in the soviet tree, as they were known as the Evil Empire.
