In my 20 years I was a cav scout, rat operator, A gunner on a 4 duce, radio mechanic, com team chief, combat engineer, master blaster power gen mechanic and other duties as ordered. Still remembered the first time driving a M60A3, still have the bruise from the TC when he kicked me for not stopping like he wanted.

Served in a light inf battalion (1Bat 1RNZIR NZ Army) that was converted to mech infantry for the last year before I left. Since we used the LAVs and not tracked vehicles I chose option two instead of one.

And yes I have jumped out of a perfectly good airplane.

repetedly.

I found it terifying to go up and then kind of boreing on the way down the first time. The second time I actualy got to enjoy the veiw on the way down because it was a nice clear day. the third time I poped way too early and landed . . . a bit away from the airfeild.

Over all Im kind of meh about it.

I spent 5 years as armor crewman in TN National Guard, M60A3 was my baby, then moved to NC, where I transferred to an Artillery unit, 155mm Howitzer, and snow bird. I hated arty, don't like not being able to see my target. So severed the term and got out with honorable discharge. Probably would have stayed in if i had of kept my MOS as tank gunner. I want to say to all of you who have never been close to a tank that is firing,,, you can't imagine the force and power that is felt when that round is sent down range. TOTALLY INSANE! ABSOLUTELY FREAKING AMAZING! Man I love tanks.

Hellenic (Greek) Army, Infantry, ROTC, 2nd LT, Platoon Leader (Island Defences) now Reserve 1LT (where are my Captain's stars I wonder...)

Got to play around with M113s and Leonidas (Greek version of Austrian Saurer 4K 4FA APC) and co-operated with M48s and M60s. Great admirer of the mighty Leopard 2A5 HEL.

WW2 history nut, avid modeller (of course) and amateur pilot.

Been waiting for this game... all my gaming life I can safely say...

I suppose I am a fan of ALL Military Brancehs (Minus the Coast Gaurd, they really arent true soldiers to me).

I especially like the Air Force, then the Navy, then the Army, then the Marines.

EDIT:Oops,I just now realized what "Military" meant....

not that I LIKED the Military but that I WAS/IS military.

Well,Im not 18.

So my vote would ACCTUALLY be "Not Military, but Im a tank-nut".

Stupid me.

Well.... the coast guard may not be soldiers, but they have prevented 2500 tons of cocaine and marijuana from entering the US by sniping the engine block of a boat going 60 km/h from a helicopter going the same speed, both of which are bobbing.   That is skill.

Retired USAF and US Army brat.

Coast Guard isn't actual military as they belong to the Department of Transportation but they do, and will, step into a fight as needed.

I would think they would have been transferred to Homeland Security on its formation, but I don't know.

Yes, Coast Guard is now attached to the DHS. http://www.dhs.gov/f...ng-america.shtm
that is an abbreviation, not a profane word
