Just my luck this outbreak in the U.S. is occurring in my county but at least I was mostly prepared for the worst.

Last week I did some shopping to add comfort foods and some perishables to my supplies so I would not have to leave the house for several weeks but I forgot one thing, Tylenol, and I only have three tabs left. In the next few days I have to go out in the hot zone to get some Tylenol. I'll hit the store at 7am when they first open so I can avoid being around a bunch of people.

good luck.  precautions are good, but panic is not.  standard influenza this season has killed 9x what Covid-19 has killed.

and you can buy tylenol on amazon, and have it delivered to the house.

I didn't think of that. Thanks.

I was wanting maple bars too but maybe I should go without.

I'm south of you, between Portland and Seattle.  Definitely keeping an eye on this.  Fortuantely, I live out in the sticks but wife is a teacher so she's exposed to the walking, coughing, sneezing, snot blowing petri dishes every day.

I'm sure it is just coincidence (NOT) but the blackhawk helicopters have been flying almost non-stop in and out of the area for the past week.  I suspect training for the time being.

I know a lot of folks loathe some of the big retailers like amazon and walmart.  But, for packaged/boxed items I go with either.  Our local Walmart recently got rid of the majority of checkout lanes and now wants to funnel us into the stupid, inefficient u-scan lanes with limited conveyor sizes.

I left 3 shopping carts full of items over a couple week's time at the door when I saw only one human cashier each time before discovering that we can, shop online, and have them pull/bag the items and drive up and they put it in our trunk/hatch with no additional surcharges...

I work from home, and haven't had to travel much since June of last year, so I try to minimize exposure to random strangers during the winter months anyway.

Word has gotten around that the virus has been spreading state side for weeks and only being detected now as more and more people turn up for hospitalization. When you go buy masks don't get the dinky surgical masks but instead get a proper mask even the old Soviet masks work but should you decide to use those old filters to be mindful of the 1-3% asbestos compound in the particulate layer and to use something on top of the outlet side of the filter that being portions of 3M filters that are commonly had cheap. You can use new 40mm Nato thread filters with Gos masks, the particulate layer is what is going to protect the wearer and if anything at all gets passed that the activated carbon layer will do the job.

I don't like surgical and generic dust masks...

I tried walking into a store with my mask on and it didn't go well.

Apparently, "The Purge" masks aren't a viable mask option.

I forgot to mention earlier I'm 65 years old and have respiratory problems so I'm in a high risk group with just a regular cold or flu.

From what I've heard and read this virus for healthy people sounds like it would be just like a bad cold or weak flu.

Block Quote

I have the coronavirus. So far, it isn't that bad.

I am in my late 60s, and the sickest I've ever been was when I had bronchitis several years ago. That laid me out on my back for a few days. This has been much easier: no chills, no body aches. I breathe easily, and I don't have a stuffy nose. My chest feels tight, and I have coughing spells. If I were at home with similar symptoms, I probably would have gone to work as usual.
