Yes, you read that right.

  • Will there be an Amnesty for fans of Banned mods?
  • “This year the project is 10 years old. On the night of August 12-14, the game was released in Russia. Yes, there will be a General Amnesty in honor of the 10th anniversary.
But this does not mean that right now you can go and create heresy. We will not unban such people, starting from the moment of this stream!”- Anton Pankov (Product Director of World of Tanks).

Edit- I heard it's only for 2 days. Well that is what was said, maybe the translation was bad or he misspoke.

I watched that stream and Russian is my first language. He never said it's only for two days.

What he actually said:

1. Global amnesty will occur closer to the anniversary date. He obviously tried to mention a date of game release to give us better idea when amnesty is going to happen, but misspoke it and said "night of August 12-14" instead.

2. It will not affect accounts that will be banned after the date of that stream. To ensure there is no "we can do whatever we want, we will be pardoned in August anyway" type of behavior.

3. He never mentioned forum bans specifically, so your guess in this regard is as good as mine.

The whole thing is, WG wants money, They want their old customers back, for more revenue.  What WG is not adding up. Those people created a new acct years ago. And unbanning criminals will not produce more revenue but less, due to people that are their main revenue will become disenfranchised.  Do We ALL Really, believe WG is that responsible?  And they will not, put profit in place of their customers.  And they might listen. But look at all the money grabbing.  Gold/Credit bundles have gone up considerably. my 2cents

4. He also said that all unbanned accounts will be kept on a shortlist, and will be perma-banned if their owners break rules again. There will be no ban for a week or a month for the first offence, etc.

Yep, sad but true... WG promise it won't take them long to ban those folks back if they keep misbehaving, but the whole idea doesn't look too appealing to me anyway...

I think those who got banned for team killing now have a new lease since they can't directly shoot anyone any more ... they can now start trolling again using physics (bumping, pushing, blocking), causing a ton of customer support tickets since that is the only way to report them now.

Gonna be a mess if they get amnesty.

I just repeated what I had read on one of the sites. You think I would sit and listen to that. My ears would bleed.I doubt they would unban forum bans but hey if they do unban cheaters anything is possible.

Lol WG hopes for legions of penal brigades to help populate their servers.

I believe this is correct. He continued to play after his forum ban. Changed his name, won't list it here in case that is frowned upon.

His account seems active but he hasn't played WoT in some time. Someone recently said he plays World of Warships now.

I picked one up calling Murazor an idiot back when he was in charge of balance, didn't even bother fighting it.  The mod team and I have always been at odds, well, previous mod teams.  It's been a long while since I picked a strike so I don't think I'm on the current mod teams radar.

He really got into destroyers but then went quiet unexpectedly.

Sadly, there is a bit of truth here. Ask Warchild for details of his "fun experiences"  in the past.

Hummmmm ???

Not sure I believe this one.

What do they consider heresy, or is it just a bad translation.

Heresy involves speaking out against a religion, the Bible, God.....ect.....

I hope they don't think that this has become a religion of some sort.  Although some playing this game treat it more like life than it being JUST A VIDEO GAME.

That said I have a few strikes for some in game chat messages, that I have no regrets about, and at least one strike in the forums just simply because my generation is a little more insensitive and speak our minds, much less prone to melting.

If they could be cleared, good, if not , well it's still just a video game.

Shaming should definitely be a thing. Don't want to get shamed don't do something to deserve it.

Do banned people still read the latest news?
