So what say you? Keep small maps in the rotation or boot them to the curb so your high tiers ballzaks can swing free? :)

The only two maps that dont really qwork in high tiers are Mines and Ensk, and yes, tier limiting them to tier 7 Max would be the best idea.

They should tier lock a large majority of the old maps as they are toxic for high tier play especially when playing 9s and 10s particularly Lakeville in addition to those already mentioned earlier in the thread.

I locked out ensk and himmelsderp but alas you only get two picks. If I could include mines in my blocked list I would be happy with the current rotation.

Himmelsdorf is fine for the high tiers, despite actually being a smaller map than Mines is. Himmels has ways that you can move safely, but with the way Mines it built, with the hill being such an important central position, it causes problems because you can spot pretty much anywhere on the map instantly.

True but my picks are more geared toward arty play than normal tank play. Both of those maps are the absolute worst for arty whilst mines is pretty open on shots though you do have to keep moving or get countered. It's also the only map I waste time doing counter battery since the arty spots are so predictable. However I hate it for all other tanks past lights and wheelies. Especially wheelies as mid to late game is fun there zipping into the rear for arty and vulturing.

Even though I despise Himmelsdorf it's more because I personally don't like city maps. City maps can "work" even if they're small as long as the firing lanes aren't too long. Ensk on the other hand is either too cramped to move around or you're permaspotted

Then again Empire's Border is a good example of larger isn't always better

Yep it suffers the same issues as mines and mountain pass in that 80% of it is unplayable terrain only leaving the same three narrow chokes connected by three windy narrow lanes.

Just make Mittengard the only tier 10 map and be done with it.

Lol. When I play my m2 light for some giggles every now and then and get that map I just back up into the corner and let the binocs and camo net set in and snipe away never getting spotted since everyone yolos to the center.

This is why I don't understand WG's logic behind wheelies. The maps are already too small and some imbecile, you can't call it anything else, decides that a 90 KPH light tank was a good idea. Not only does it screw over just about every heavy tank in the game but it does so for slow tanks in general.

Province is another one that is too small for the view range of high tier vehicles.

Province doesnt see tiers about tier 6 or 7... so... not really a huge deal there. High tiers are 8-10.

Size shouldn't be the only limitation. Maps that have early game spawn camps are not good for balance. Looking at you, Glacier.

Honestly, Empire's Border really isnt bad. It just requires a team willing to properly play the map. The means contesting both the south west heavy brawl AND the hill along with the mid approach. With certain team comps you can full send up the northern banana and bum rush things quickly, before either continuing to the enemy base or returning to defend.

Sorry but I disagree. To me it's the most horrible example of a corridor map that while not being impossible to play, as in being horribly unbalanced, offers little but brawling at choke points with little or no chance to flank. Possible exception here being really fast tanks but if you're in a slow(ish) tank it's the most boring map WG has ever created and whoever came up with it should be handed over to the Daleks ....

I would not mind trying 1200x1200 maps for higher tiers. But i really don't want them to remove any maps from rotation, till they have suitable replacements for them as the selection seems limited already. We don't need less maps.
