Howdy Boom Jockeys!

Another British tank is about to roll onto the Supertest. This time it’s the Valiant, a Tier V medium. But is it as valiant as its name suggests? The Supertest will show!

Technically, the vehicle is an evolution of another British tank, the Valentine. The improvements were made in two areas: armor protection and firepower. As a result, the Valiant’s front and side armor is up to 114 mm, while its hit points amount to 800. As for the firepower, it was taken up a notch, too: its alpha is 110 points while the reload time is 3.9 s. The dispersion and the aiming time are 0.41 at 100 m and 2.3 seconds, respectively. While armor penetration with a standard AP shell is 91 mm and a special APCR round will pierce armor 144 mm thick.

The rest of its characteristics are quite mediocre, with a view range of 340 m, a maximum speed of 19 km/h, and a power to weight ratio of 7.7 hp/tonne.

Summing up, the Valiant boasts a rapid-firing gun and armor protection that is decent for its tier. Conversely, mobility, and dynamics are the vehicle’s downsides. Given these characteristics, the tank is good at supporting allies in breaking through enemy defense while inflicting much damage thanks to its gun.

Spoiler

Note: same gun as Excelsior, with slower reload and thus less DPM. Slightly more accurate.

I can feel the pain of making a 'positive' writeup for this hunk of junk because your listed good points of this tank are literally the text book definition of a tanks function.

I really want to meet the devs who thought these were ok stats sending the tank into super test, it will lag behind literally every tank in tier 5 outside of an archer driving forward for some reason (AT-2 has a 20kph top speed), the only tanks that will bounce will be other british tanks and people with the stock gun (that is until they just load gold and bye bye effective armor).

The dpm isn't too bad, if only your aim time wasn't a decade and the dispersion wasn't calculated with the standard of 'good enough'. It will be hilarious to me if when you guys release the shell velocity that it's sub 800m/s.

The only thing valiant about this entire thread if your effort in making this sound like something anyone with a brain would want to drive.

Release a new tier 5 tank? Make it 'quite mediocre'! Release a tier 10 tank? Make it game-breaking!

There's no reason WG shouldn't be able to release mid and low-tier tanks that are fun to play. I get that this is based on the Valentine, so it won't be great, but come on.

A new tier 5 medium @ 19 km/h...hmm...That gives you waaaay to much time to watch the minimap while driving into your position.

Same tier too, but without pref MM, so hot trash. Also, 19km/h max speed = killshot.

Looks like garbage.

Looks pretty meh, slight improvement armor-wise over the Matilda BP. 92 pen is tragic on a tier 5 medium that will see tier 7s. Matilda BP is also 3km faster.

People in this thread expecting a tank based on the literal worst tank ever designed, one so bad that its used as an example of how not to design a tank, one so bad that just operating it risked physical harm to the crew inside of it, to be good in this game is hilarious to me.

As if WG has ever balanced a tank over those factors. Modern WG has decided all stats are subject to balancing so no excuse for them to spend resources releasing crap no one wants to play.

Yes and its almost like no one here realizes, that after years of it being this way, initial super test stats are often directly based on the tanks historical parameters (if applicable) before being changed. So anyone expecting that the first iteration of the literal worst tank ever made was expecting something that was never going to happen. And thats why its hilarious. (That being said, a 114mm pike nose at tier 5 isnt exactly the worst thing in WoT... even if it did make the real tank actually terrible).

All the people complaining. I've been waiting for this tank years ago. I even have suggested this fail tank should be free just for fun. WG should make this a premium credit maker tank that is a free reward for players getting their first tier 5 tank. The other suggested fail tank would be the Neubaufahrzeug as tier 5. No one is going to buy these tanks or even use Gold for it. Make all failed tanks as reward tanks would be the better idea for new players.
