The end of battle report sheet seems to imply that damaging an enemy from  distance greater than 300 meters is somehow extra important.

On the third page/box we see this:

The damage inflicted by -- it MUST mean ON  the enemy:  262

                                            from a distance of over 300m:  121

The 121 points mentioned in the second line as being from over 300m range are a subset of the 262 in line one. (It took a while to figure this out, and it is too hard to explain right now.)  In other words, 262 is the total damage and 121 is part of that 262.

Anyway, what I seek to know is this:  Why does the report break out the damage done from > 300m?  Why does it not do the same for any other range? Is the long range info used to calculate WN8 or something?

Does anyone have any insight into this?

You get less exp and credits from >300m.

It's also used as a benchmark for missions. For example some TD missions will require you do deal x damage at a distance of 300m or greater.

Tank sniper is a battle hero award you can get by having so much damage done from over 300 m away and a hit % of 85% or greater

I'm pretty sure this is incorrect, or at least the wiki doesn't say anything about it. There is a small bonus "Close combat bonus" for targets that are less than 200m from you, but it doesn't list anything related to 300m.

Obviously you get less XP and credits if someone else spots for you, which can easily happen at 300m or more, but if you're spotting your own target at more than 300m there is no penalty to your credits and XP.
