Hi so my friend installed WoT recently, and likes it, but he found, now that he has it installed, his PC has become extremely slow and he cant do anything on it other than browsing. i think his is a windows 10. he has much more than enough space (he's one of those 500GB guys) on his computer. he also has World Of Warships. he deleted WoT and now his computer works like normal. anyone know why this is happening? appreciate any help!

Probably has seeding allowed in the control center. It allows others to get parts of the game off your and other computers so it downloads faster, but as you can tell, it uses your resources. I have turned it off in the settings in the control center or whatever it is called when you go to log in.

If his PC is slow when he is playing his computer is not equip to play wot because space isn't always an issue but rather drivers and graphis cards. Defragmenting and cleaning hard drive errors could help.

The WGC downloading stuff in the background maybe?  I hate that [edited].

This could be one of the culprits.

There's also a few other 'settings' that could help. I, personally, have turned off the options for 'pre-loading' updates. Also, there's an option "Exit Game Center when I close the main window" and "Minimize Game Center to the taskbar notification area when I launch a game" that I have checked. Maybe that'll help.

Read it again, starting with the title.

That's just the data mining program they have running in the background.  Perfectly harmless but makes them a ton of money!

If it is just the general space it is taking up on your drive (put it on another drive if at all possible), then go to wargaming game center and turn off download updates ahead of time, turn off update seeding, turn off load wargaming game center on computer start, and turn off minimize game center when I close window (you want it to close when you exit, not be minimized),

I've never seen another title have these options on by default. Crazy.

Exit game center button doesnt do anything..WGC always runs while game is on and even after closing..unless you manually close it.Why wg would ly about this???...well..this is practically a russian game so....

Eve online got caught using a bitcoin miner when you were docked. People kept wondering why when they went idle in station the gpu use would skyrocket to 100% and it got leaked a couple of devs had coded it in to make some coin on the side. Fits given the nature of the game.

You only need WGC to update the game. Use a shortcut to WordofTanks.exe to launch the game.

I close wot apps when I log out of game. I dont want it running in background as a security measure.
