About as fun as a 750 alpha td can be at tier 8. Sadly its in a bulky immobile casemate so your chances at fun will be limited by the map and team. But when they align you should be giggling like a schoolgirl.

I've always enjoyed your posts. But this one deserves a proper review. I'm sorry but "Seems Fine" is just a disservice to the people thinking of getting this tank. Many of us (me included) say forget it completely and I use almost every single average stat of the better tank, the tech tree ISU-152 to prove this. So if you say it "Seems fine" then that comment deserves more clarification. Is it a good buy? A good tank to play? Or is it a waste. The folks you are posting this to deserve a better review than "Seems fine". And you have enough experience and are a good enough player to provide a proper full opinion on this tank.

Fair enough.

http://wotreplays.eu/site/5411000#glacier-24_inch_pythons-isu-152k

It's definitely not a waste. I say it is a good tank to buy if you are looking for a premium 750 alpha TD (750 alpha at Tier VIII is hilarious). If someone can't stand to play casemate TDs then stay away, of course.

If someone feels really, really strongly about Wargaming putting this gun back in the game in the form of a premium I can respect that. To me they have just enough wiggle room that I'm willing to overlook that, though I'm not 100% happy about the precedent.

Don't, for one second, let the stats vis-à-vis the tech tree ISU-152 make you think that this is an inferior tank. I was a little concerned, as I mentioned in my first post, that the nerfs would be problematic. But after playing it the nerfs don't seem to stand in the way. All that matters is that 750 alpha. The ISU-152K is, for all practical intents and purposes, just as capable of delivering that as the tech tree. Probably a little more if you consider 1) the increased penetration - more pen never hurts and that little extra makes penetrating on a low pen roll even more reliable - that's where you need the pen... the low rolls. 2) the increased gun traverse angles and increased elevation angle (yes, that matters sometimes) also make it a little easier to operate than the tech tree. The only real downside the ISU-152K has in relation to the tech tree ISU-152 is the gun handling on traversing the gun. That's bad... but you just pre-aim a little bit... it isn't that hard.

If you're in a heavy Tier IX or Tier X game you obviously need to be more careful. But, whenever you have the chance, bully the heavies (see the glacier replay in this post) you bully them until their are crying, begging you to stop. Make them regret only having 320, or 390, alpha... you have 750!  As long as you have support and they can't rush you...

It's essentially an ISU-152. If you like that, you'll like the ISU-152k. I bought the K and although it's very situational and not the most competitive, slapping for 750 is fun, and that's what this game is about.

Don't have one, saw a couple on red team get killed because they were too far forward and had nobody to cover them on reload. The gun's nasty though.

Ive played 4 games in it today, I average 3200 damage and I won 3 out of 4 games. I am really enjoying it, its really not the easiest thing to play, but its very rewarding if you have patience and know how to position your tank. The only real difficult aspect im having is getting used to the mobility. I seem to have found a good balance between passive and active play, which has allowed my to not throw my tank and support my teammates. Also I would like to add that I thought the extra penetration would be overkill, but in reality i have used it. There was an instant where I penned a vk 100.01s upper plate and another where i penned a caernarvons turret front with standard. Its a fun tank and in my opinion worth it if you dont feel like grinding and commiting a crew to get the tech tree variant.

- Also for whatever reason the ace tanker exp requirement seems rather low, I got it with 1162 base xp. I guess the tank isnt being played very well by most.

Slow and sluggish. Good gun. Not much armor.

If you like that sort of thing, good tank. Me, I think slow and sluggish is a huge gimp, but that's me.

I never liked non-turreted TDs, especially the isu. Sure u get a big gun, but it is fat, slow, and incredibly inflexible.

I've come to respect my ts5 even though I despise casemate td in general. Got in it the lootbox and let it sit for months then decided meh give it a few runs. Welp it made me a believer as that gun is golden and the frontal armor is very troll at tier 8 as long as you can keep the lower plate hidden. Almost like it as much as the chinese prem td which is the only other casemate I like.

The RHM hits for as much, and has a turret if you want something comparable but more flexible. Tech tree tank ISU-152 is also the same. Bonus of course is it's a premium.

At times the ISU-152K makes you want to pull your hair out strand by strand when you miss repeatedly because RNG hates you. And in this tank RNG hates you a lot. The gun is seriously derpy, it's slow, low engine power etc etc. The tradeoff when the moon's align (When your shots actually go where you're aiming) you can do some very considerable damage. Is it worth the money? Nah, the SU-130PM is just a better tank destroyer in almost all regards. Sure you can land 750 bombs on people, but that doesn't make this a good tank.

Buyer Beware.

Guess this explains why they put a 14 return policy on it if you don't like it.

if you like casemate TD and do not see the lack of a turret as a problem then you will like this vehicle

It's new.  It's gonna kick [edited]with RNG+ while it's on sale so everyone raves about it and gets more people to drop $50-$100 on a chunk of pixels.  If you buy it, let us know in  60 days what you think.

I have been playing with the AP and with the HE, both have their merits and either can at times deal over 900 damage.  I've settled on a 50/50 mix and either way I am making a lot of credits.  A couple of good hits and you will have a lot of credits at the end.  Try hitting a light tank with HE, it is really fun!
