beyond 40m, and make HE round splash relevant/penetrating not just to the wheels/suspension.

Jack of All Trades should be mandatory for the amount of crew knockouts these ought to be receiving (reduce their crew HP, or have HE from actual tanks be catastrophic, even if this is accompanied by an HP buff to the wheeled vehicles themselves to accommodate).

 

Skill ceiling and amount of micro maneuvering/terrain navigation needs to be increased -- make them have to 3rd person/free aim beyond a discrete, and very near diameter of auto-aim. As is, they're fun policing grief mosquitos in a way artillery never was (outside of multiple SPG + focusing matches)

Honestly, any attempt to balance them would be appreciable. Most tanks have one or two such assets. Currently wheelies have the following benefits:
1. Best speed bar none
2. Ability to keep moving after being "tracked"
3. Wheels that block more shots than a Maus.
4. Aimbot or whatever it's called
5. Near-best HE rounds of lights (except derp T49 obviously, very similar to the German HEP rounds)
6. Among the best dispersion on the move

Doesn't mean arty is balanced either and it doesn't mean players have fun playing against arties. When arty's gonna require skill, then we can talk about not removing arty.

I respect folks who think arty should stay in this game, but I don't agree and I never will

Personally it don't think anything meaningful will be done to the wheeled vehicles, it will be like the HE ammo nerf in that people will complain and it will be quietly dropped or at best given a token nerf, when you put something into an online game that's OP or has game breaking abilities you have to fix it immediately within a few months at best and you have to let the players know that changes are coming, if you let it go too long then players will get used to it and you won't be able to change anything.

Wheeled car nerfs need to go far beyond the tires. OP is correct

Their on the move dispersion, rate of fire, turret traverse speeds, and damage resistance are all silly and fantasy OP, especially for what they really are or would be.

A 1% player bringing in 'skill' as HIS requirement for the masses to play a pixel tank.  You are great at a video game...props for that... but the common sense part leaves you wanting.

 

Arty is against you.  What's "fun" about being hit by it?  Nothing.  That's the point.  REALIZE this and it may help you handle it emotionally as you're already DOMINATING the game regardless of arty - which has been in the game since day1, you know TEN YEARS. 

 

Also, you can talk about removing arty 'til you're blue in the face.  You can be the top echelon on something and demand removal of a feature YOU don't like regardless of how others feel.  Children often do that.  It's extrapolated even further on our campuses today.... but REAL conversation... you're not capable of on this subject yet. 

 

You're still too emotional, as evidenced by your own words.

Auto-aim works both ways. Use it to take the wheelies out when they are driving directly towards or away from you.

And don't shoot HE at them... the slower shell velocity is not what you want. Plus the wheels detonate the round reducing the amount of damage you deal to them.

OTOH, HE shells should detonate when striking places where AP shells would pass through w/o damage.

This or get rid of the stupid high pen HE shells. Preferably both. Its one thing for wheelies to completely outperform other light tanks at spotting. Its another for them to do that AND also kill other light tanks in combat because they have stupidly good firepower against other lights.

If wheelies are going to out-scout other lights, they shouldn't also out-fight them too.
