First and foremost I hate arty, but I don’t have enough orders to skip through all the missions. My FV207 just isn’t cutting it for the stun missions. Which arty would you all recommend???

Looking at your tanks, I suggest either the M44 (which is your best WN8 of the 3), M12, or FV3805.

The bigger the splash radius the better luck you'll have.

The one that really annoyed me was the one that had to be done only in French arty (stun 2 tanks with 1 shot in 5 different battles). The French arty do not have really big splash radius, and do you think I got any kind of good setup for it in the first 20 battles I tried? lol

Rate of fire is also a big plus. You may have a huge splash radius, but if you miss, you also have a long reload.

M44 - best arty in the game.

FYI - the higher you go, generally the longer the stun duration.

Best of luck!

You'll want the M44 and M53/55 for all arty missions that aren't nation-specific.

I'm needing a bigger gun than the M44... I have the M12 and a ton of Blueprints, so I most likely can get to the M53/55 with them..

I absolutely hated the French arty. They wouldn't hit anything at all for me.

I have the M12... I'm just wondering if I should blow all my blueprints down an arty line if I'm only going to be using them for missions and then never again?

I'd recommend my personal favorite, the S-51. all of these mission I'm doing on him. but any Arty with 203mm caliber Is fine to do those. The faster reload speed the better,

Remember to focus the place with most tanks concentrated and try to stun all of them instead of damaging them.

I just finished Alliance 9 for the 279e and got some very helpful feedback form the Community. The 53/55 using the small gun, with Coke, bounty equipment and a good crew can get a reload below 21 secs. Early in the game fire into normal scout and td spots as you can get a couple of blind shots in before the game really gets going. In town maps, you can still get splash damage by hitting the walls above so if you can't get a perfect shot in, aim above and take the splash damage that way. This worked for me this past weekend.

I have used the 53/55 do almost all the first campaign and now have done all the Alliance missions with it so I would say it is worth going down the line. Don't waste your time on the 92 though as I don't care much for it.

The American line is the best in the game for these missions, for the second run of missions you have little choice if you want the Chimera or the 279 but to go up all of them however they are pretty easy overall. M50/53 is a real joy to use especially when running a very good crew and cola.

Interesting choice about the gun.

What crew skills are recommended ?

I just have BIA, Camo and Snapshot trained at the moment.

53/55 in this config is a rapid-fire pop gun.  If stunning is the goal - this is a fantastic set-up.  Small gun to-the-large was an easy, unexpectedly pleasant, grind back in the day.

I will check tonight as I don't recall all the details. I know my crews are working on their 5th skill though.

I can't take credit for this. I was struggling with this mission and got some great feedback that helped me put this one behind me this past weekend. Some good info on this thread from a number of great players.

Anything with a high rate of fire, the M53 with the stock gun would probably be the best, you have a good RoF with a decent splash radius and a lot of HP on the table so near misses are going to do much.

BIA is really the only crew skill needed for arty.  the rest are just mild bonuses for mobility, hiding or shotgunning.  a lot of us used the small gun due to the RoF it has.  directly hitting individual targets can be more advantageous than trying to splash groups - especially with many maps while funneltastical are still not well suited to consistently splash multiple targets.

the tier 9 british arty I believe can hit an even more absurd RoF for tier 9, but I skipped it straight to the CGC (it's also not as mobile as the 53/55 and if/when I play arty I like to be more mobile than some folks are in mediums.

53/55 is best all around arty for missions.

GLD, Rammer, and vents.

quick enough to relocate, good reload, and good damage/splash

make sure gunner has snapshot skill since this spg has a turret
