Hello,

Looking around on the internet I found this dude who made his Maus go 60kmh by using a mod:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=00S97lx289A
and have also seen discussion about the "Tank Exporter" program and mikeoverbay's other programs for modifying tanks.  How are all of these mods legal to use?  Can you only use them in custom battles, or are they legal in both custom and random battles?

Thanks!

This is a total misunderstanding of whats going on. That clip is of an Even 90 with a Maus remodel. Nothing to see here. Move along.

Oof, didn't see that.  Thanks!
Still have questions about the TankExporter stuff though.  Aren't people able to use it to change the dynamics of the tank, for example gun height/length, tank length, etc.? If this is so, can people use this software to legally cheat in ways like raising the turret higher so they can shoot over rocks and buildings without being fired back at?

You can only alter what's in your screen. Servers sees it with the original size/stats. You can't modify those as they're controlled server side.

In the example of the video, only you can see the Maus. Everyone else sees an ELC. And the tank will move, shoot, and have the same armor as an ELC.

Basically, these mods are entirely visual. They dont effect any stats, nor the hitbox of the tank. Its also only visible to you.

Hi.. I wrote Tank Exporter....
As everyone has pretty much answered... Changing a tank model on your computer does not change it across the game. Only you will see the changes to the models.
Also.. there is no way to defeat the collision of shells or anything else.. Its all handled on the server.
You can fiddle with data on the client side but it just makes the game behave oddly on your system. Everyone else will see the game normally.
