Nerfing bond earnings and calling it a buff is the most WG thing I've ever seen.

Hey Boop.  I take it the daily Standard/Premium missions will still have bonds available for earning?  Didn't seen anything mentioned in the video.

You can't earn bonds below tier ten, my understanding is they removed the reward for epic medals and any bond earning below tier ten.  If you don't play a lot of tier ten this means you make less bonds.  For me I'll get less bonds, as I mostly play with friends below tier ten as they don't even have tier tens.

If this change was in addition to the old method of earning bonds I'd be ok with it.  But from what I've seen it replaces the old method.

Also how is this for the masses? Pretty sure the masses mostly play below tier ten as I'm sure most players play mid tier games.  So how is this for the masses?

Capping the amount of bonds you can get in a week on a single vehicle is a huge nerf. I'm not sure how it can be seen any other way.

My understanding from one of the Developer Q&A videos was that population for tier ten pubs had dropped unexpectedly and by a large (but unspecified) amount.  Don't have the link, sorry.  They make a lot of money on tier ten, on gold spam and on the 6 million credit tanks so this is a problem.

One could speculate that the EBR 105 domination, or the explosion of unmatchable Clan reward tanks has hurt it.  Either way this bond scheme is probably their way to draw more players back to tier ten.

Hi KRZYBooP, just to confirm, as long as I'm driving a tier X tank, if I meet the threshold, regardless of whether there are tier 8s and 9s, I would earn bonds. Is that correct?

It's easy to point at the fact that tier 10 tanks are expensive to play and use that as a scapegoat for why people aren't playing tier 10 as much... But it's much more accurate to look at tier 10 and the issues it has and try to resolve them. Namely, the following (in my opinion):

  1. Wheelies, and specifically their horrendously unbalanced current condition.
  2. Overpowered tanks that are un-fun to play against.
  3. huge stupid derp guns (4005 and FV215b 183) and their one-shot mechanics
  4. 3 artillery in just about every single tier 10 game.

Tier 10 is unplayable in its current condition, and WG doesn't want to see that, because that would mean they would have to admit their mistakes and then fix them. In the words of Mr Sinclair: "It's very difficult to make a man understand something when his livelihood depends on him not understanding it"

Exactly.

This is wargaming stretching definitions.

If you are any good at World of Tanks and have time on your hands... You played your favorite tier 10(s) and you could easily earn 5-7 bonds in a match for showing up and playing. With 1 good game pushing 20+ bonds.

Now the limit is 100 a week on a vehicle and income sounds like it was nerfed. So more games to achieve less bonds at tier 10.

This punishes people who played at tier 10 especially in their favorite tanks.

The server as a whole might play more tier 10 and earn more total bonds from tier 10 games but an individual player trying to grind bonds at tier 10 can no longer do so without a much larger time investment, without grinding down every tier 10 line and without playing for months on end to get enough bonds for 1 piece of equipment.

The events help. The battle pass helps. Tournaments help. But this update will gate more competitive play and real advantages improvement equipment gives behind time walls (with a mix of paywall in there).

The goal should be to get people to compete. Not wall off improved equipment from the people who don't have it and need it

I'll agree with points 1,2, and 4, but also add in that tier tens get boring.  You don't feel like your progressing anymore as the xp you get really just gives a crew like .00001% skill per battle in xp.  Top tier in a ten isn't fun as some are so strong that they just rolf stomp tier eights.

The derp's don't bother me, you don't see many and in most cases are really hard to play plus need to full pen to do derpy damage.

It's getting capped due to how easy it will be to earn bonds now, and it resets weekly.

You will still be able to earn bonds in some events, missions, and other things that WG will provide.

And yes you can still platoon with your non-tier 10 friends and earn bonds in your tier 10 tank.

Last I checked mixed tier platoons were not a thing.  So I don't see how I can platoon with a tier eight tank and still get bonds at tier ten.  This really feels like you can choose to spend your time playing with friends, or grinding bonds.  It's just a bad feeling.

Basically, it will now be easier for bots in LT's to earn bonds by holding W until they explode.

To be honest i like it, way more predictable to earn bonds and the limit makes sure that a few players gain a huge advantage over the rest, it's like the daily mission update some patches ago, at first i was mad but now i like the system since it allows me to plan my daily gameplay.

I've got 50 tier ten tanks, if I get all 100 bonds per week in those that is 5k bonds a week.  So the limit doesn't really effect players with every tank, it's just the amount of time they have to play.  Which is my problem, I don't normally play tier ten, I like to play with friends and most of which don't have tier tens.  So now my bond progress is roughly what ever I'll get from events and daily missions.  So a net loss of overall bond income for players that don't just grind tier ten tanks all day.

Think of it like this, before the change you got 50ish bonds for 25 battles at any tier four plus.  After the change you get 100 bonds from 20 battles at tier ten only.  I'd rather have the decreased bond income and be able to play any tank in my garage then the increase at tier ten only.

I certainly hope so, as this is my main way of making bonds (and Battle Pass, but I don't play enough to get close to maxing Battle Pass out - only got to Elite Progression Level 12 on the first one) because I play Premium VIIIs almost exclusively to max earn Credits.  I have 50 Tier Xs but rarely play them because they cost a lot of Credits TO play.  Perhaps I'll play more Xs in the new system, but it'll still be limited because I need MORE Credits, not LESS.

This Sucks.

It has no redeeming features whatsoever.

100% Suckage.

Well done.

P.S. And the announcement article was a ridiculous pile of steaming. You really do think we're that dumb, don't you?

ETA: This won't make me want to play Tier X more. Rather the opposite, as the increased bonds income for those who play within these rules will just result in more bond equipment being played by the people who are already OP in Tier X. And, said people with now even more OP Tier X tanks will ALSO be playing against Tier VIII and IX vehicles, who will be even more quickly cremated now. Why are you pitting the Tier X community against everyone else?

Sorry sir this is exactly the opposite of bonds for the masses. Nice try on WGs side to make it sound that way. Many people do not play tier X because of a number of reasons many are listed out already. Yes WG has a tier X issue and restricting most forms of acquiring bonds to that tier will only exacerbate the problem not solve it. The consistent failure of this company to actually address issues with real solutions an instead try to manipulate the broken ares of the game to somehow "fool" the playing population to ignore the real issues is mind blowing.

Personally I will not play a tier that I  despise because of numerous reasons for bonds simply isn't going to happen. What it does do is take another aspect of the game out for me now and further my dissatisfaction with how they are running the game.

Frankly it is insulting to even think we are so stupid to buy into this is for the masses.
