Stay alive and keep your gun in the fight, Most times you have to play the Turds to get to the Gems in every line.

Actually, you are more useful alive, whereas a lot of the players in this game don't affect the outcome either way. :-)

Though, the reality is that staying alive longer is one of the tips that I try to instil on players I'm instructing because learning how to survive is part of learning how to deal more damage in a match. Live longer, deal more damage, win more games. Pretty simple tip to understand, but hard to turn into practice.

x.

For below avg players:

There are bad tier 8 prems and good tier 8 prems.

There are bad tier 6 tech tree tanks and good tier 6 tech tree tanks.

There are bad tier 10s and good tier 10s.

Bottom line: Play the good ones.

I actually do not do this because I enjoy playing bad tanks and doing well "most" of the the time in them. But then I do just ok in the best of the best or stink it up in tanks people call idiot proof. Which is an example that no tank can cure stupid play.

1. Learn to survive WHILE contributing. Not just stay alive to die at the last with one shot off.

2. Quit going to the same spot every single time you get a map unless its the most productive spot for you and the map flow says its a good spot again.

3. Have an exist point for anywhere you decide to move on a map because things go back quickly and you need to last as long as possible.

4. If you must camp. Camp with a productive purpose and move that "camp" spot as the battle progresses.

5. Bad tank good tank play to its strengths. Know what ti can an can not do then minimize it weakness.

Last thing is huge pet peeve of mine. Frontal armor even though Gold negates armor overall in the game. You should be facing the tank your attacking to maximize it. Not full side facing your target. Why make it easy as possible to pen you in a heavy frontal armored tank by sitting sideways to them. I am a damn average player but these few things learned from guys who are much better than I will ever be improved my contributions to a match.

One thing I've learned: Don't rush to the front to be the first to pop off shots and get damage. Hang back and let those who have the experience, and the armor, take the first hits. Help where you can without hindering your fellow greens.

Nah, fam, ima help you out.

1. Camp - you wanna find the furthest corner of the map.  Get so far back you can’t see anyone but your own team.

2. [edited]about “invisible” tanks in chat to impress everyone with your game knowledge.
3. If you must attack, make sure you do it one tank at a time - never help a teammate, never allow a teammate to help you.

4. Heavy tanks are the best campers with their superlative vision control, don’t worry about position

5. Light tanks are ideal for brawling - put on your man pants and trade shots, you coward! It’s a tank!
6. Never use concealment - you wanna be out in the open as much as possible.
7. Try to anticipate where the enemy wants to fight you, drive there.

8. If you are man fighting in the open like a good tanker, give the enemy your side so your tracks can protect you.
9. Angling your armor is for cowards, don’t do this.

10. Find teammates that are hiding and draw as much attention to them as you can.

There you have it, 10 steps to pubbing like a boss in tanks.  Don’t forget to tell your team how they should be playing after you die.

Sums the na server game play nicely.

If a TOG is in your team then all the team should camp behind it.

Oh, and turn off the mini map, it just gets in the way.

If you're looking for enjoyment - play whatever the hell you want and enjoy the game for what YOU want out of it.  If you're looking to be competitive - play the meta.

Pro tip?  If you're below average... Big chance you'll never BE a pro-gaming 'tanker', so give that dream up then define what you want out of your game.

Some of us simply enjoy simulating real WWII-era vehicles.

I've spent countless hours driving in training rooms with friends just checking out new/different vehicles as they came out and screwing around with them in a small, controlled environment with friends.  Get a good group in TS, a good buzz, and (for me) that's a great time.

I can remember the fun of looking at every detail of the Fury tank after the movie was released - not because it would garner me accolades in a clan, do exceedingly well, or anything else other than the sheer geek value I intrinsically place on pixel renditions of armored vehicles - it's a passion of mine.

Grinding requires playing non upgraded tanks, which are bad. Grinding turns above average players to below average.

I have done the grind since I started playing the game. In those days players who had premium tanks were looked upon with quiet contempt. How times have changed. In all the years I've been playing I have never purchased a premium tank! Never will. I do buy gold, but I tend to invest in crews, which is way too expensive IMO. But WG doesn't care, it's money in the bank for them.

Dirty little Stapadders don't grind!

lets put it this way playing light tanks is a skill + tank thing and honestly unless your playing one of the new indestructible ebr's scout tanks your pretty much wasting your time and hevy tanks are great except that you are going to suffer same with td's though some are very nice so basically learn to play mediums and get good at those then try your hand at the others
