Chess is not a sport but certainly Baseball and Golf are. Those 2 take a physical ability and coordination to play.

You can bet on a lot of things in Vegas, that doesn’t make them sports. Sorry people playing video games is not a sport until they advance to the virtual world and you have to run and jump and stuff like that to play. Then you can make a argument.

Mr Snuggly Zombie sir please,

FYI chess was once a Summer Olympic Sport.

Baseball is not a sport but rather a game and does not require tremendous physical conditioning:  Just take a look at Babe Ruth!  Also, how about the all of cheating in baseball?

Onto golf, oh please just don't make me laugh:  if those guys are so fit then why don't they even CARRY THEIR OWN BAGS! Even further, they need a cart to be driven around in!

Like I said, eSports is going to be the future of the Olympics bc of the COVID-19!

This game is like playing chess but when you go to capture a piece there's a chance your piece decides to move to an adjacent square.

There is no difference between chess and WoT. You know in chess, when you move your queen to take out knight, but your queen gets ammoracked instead..same thing in wot.

From what I remember reading awhile back it was no longer profitable for them.

I don't watch a lot of eSports but, if you have ever seen a Starcraft II tournament, those high end competitors are performing 350-450 actions per minute (APM), deliberately.  Yes anyone can roll their face across a keyboard. I physically can't reliably press keys that fast and I've been using a computer for decades.  You have to physically exert yourself to move that quickly.  You may not break a sweat but, it takes a level of physical training and effort, same as Golf.  Unless its super hot, most golfers don't break a sweat.  Same with sports like Bowling and Billiards.

Thanks for putting it that way. I'm not convinced it is a sport but I like your description.

It is impressive what pro gamers can do!

You are mistaken Mr bad name picker. I can't be bothered to go in to much detail. Don't equate body type to psychical prowess. Bath Ruth was an incredible talent, and a great athlete.

They showed the game to ESports. Esports saw the sheer amount of RNG involved, " skill " rounds. They laughed hysterically and threw WG out of the facility.

Golf isnt much of a sport sorry to tell ya but played over 30+ years of it and im only 38. Also baseball really? stand in one place for a lil and pretend to do something. Not sure about u but the brain itself is used in all those and in gaming so if u ask me it is.

Probably doesn't help that some of the information the game client exposed for the purpose of eSports interface mods made illegal intel mods possible (having potential access to the exact load status of any tank, including enemies, etc.).  If it had been taken more seriously, they could have had a dedicated mode for the purpose of eSports games, in order for the server to only send that information to the spectator users.  Instead, the server just threw the data at every player, and hoped (still hopes?) you didn't have a cheat mod to show it in regular games.
