Yes, maybe. I could be wrong. You can research yourself and see if what I say is correct (and according to Wargaming documents being without spelling mistakes for things like new Equipment prices). But all research has to be done before Update 1.10, else the possible -- possible; I'm not sure -- silver credits profits will not exist anymore (right?).

I myself sold things like I said, and have about 7 million silver credits from it. My account was about 70000 silver credits (seventy thousand), and now it is over 7000000 silver credits (over seven million). Only some of that will be needed to buy all my Equipment back (but the new versions it will be), after Update 1.10, if my conclusions are correct. Meanwhile, I can use the 7 million to buy another tier 10 light vehicle when I get up to it.

If I understand what I have read so far about these changes, any tank considered class 3 will have their equipment automatically removed during the patch and sent to the depot.  Any equipment in the depot becomes class 1. The price is going to jump 50,000 on class 2 vehicles.

Your theory may be correct if you don't plan on going into the higher tiers. If you do, then you just sold a bunch of equipment for 1/2 price that you will have to buy back later that you would have already available had in your depot for free.

I have removed all the toolboxes/binos/nets from my tanks, but I don't think I'll risk selling anything.

If what you say about all equipment in the depot becomes class 1 -- or maybe it could mean they can be used as class 1 or any other class after they are in the depot? -- and you want equipment for higher tiers like tiers 8 to 10, then you would be right to do as you do.

I myself never thought of working for more higher tier tanks, but need the silver credits to buy a tier 10 light vehicle. Just one new tier 10 light vehicle for now. I already have researched the Manticore AND the EBR 105 with blueprints. I was researching with blueprints from top to down (highest tier 10 and going downwards). I have researched the Sheridan partly with blueprints just recently, also. For me, silver credits are easy to get, because it takes no real money to get them, but just playing my premium tier 8 vehicles of any vehicle type, any tanks I'm good with of low to middle tiers, and any tech tree light tanks of middle tiers (tiers 5 to 7) to make good credits (I am a good light tank player).

It just takes too long to make 6 million silver credits, though, so this Equipment selling for a profit is a great solution -- because I do not intend to work for many new middle to higher tier vehicles, like you might want to, but I just might want to reequip some of the lower tier vehicles I sold their equipment of (for 250000 silver credits each -- a great 200000 silver credits profit each if my theory is correct!!!).

I decided to not risk an epic failure by Wargaming and demounted my binos, nets, and toolboxes.

I potentially saved $0.45.  If I can find another eight of those opportunities before Armageddon hits I will have enough for a Mc'D's coffee.  Yummy.

If I invest that $0.45 for 700 years I will be able to retire in splendor!!!  So many opportunities!!!

This is my August 2, 2020 correction and apology (added to the image file already):

I finally read and think I comprehend the Wargaming article 'Conversion to Equipment 2.0' (which I even gave in my original post, but did not comprehend the importance of until now):

https://worldoftanks.com/en/news/updates/equipment-2-0-conversion/

It shows some Equipment that at present costing 500 000 silver credits to buy, becoming converted to the new version for Equipment 2.0 and becoming converted to Class 1 level equipment that costs 600 000 each in silver credits. You then can sell these Class 1 level equipments for half price -- 300 000 silver credits you would get for each -- and then buy the Class 3 level equipments costing 50 000 silver credits each, for your tiers 1 to 4 vehicles, right?

That would be more than the 250 000 you would get if you sold your equipment now before Equipment 2.0 goes into effect (and then waiting for Equipment 2.0 to go into effect and buying the Class 3 level 50 000 equipment).

I apologize to everyone who took my advice. I myself followed my own advice and lost, in general (there may or may not be exceptions), 50 000 (fifty thousand) on every equipment that costs 500 000 (five hundred thousand) in the present Equipment system, when I sold each one before this new Equipment 2.0 has yet to take effect. Like ( maybe each one or some of them ) Coated Optics, Binocular Telescope, Vertical Stabilizer, Enhanced Gun Laying Drive.

Not to mention the 10 gold with each demount for an equipment that could not be freely demounted.

Camo Nets (and maybe one or more other equipment?), though, I think is still acceptable advice -- you don't lose any silver credits with it, right or wrong? Not to mention not spending any gold (because it's one of the free demounts with the present equipment system).

So my new advice is:

If you already did, or want to: Follow my original advice, and lose out on 50 000 silver credits -- as well 10 gold for some that need it for demounting -- for many equipment of tiers 1 to 7, in the process -- but have a neater, tidier garage before Update 1.10.

OR

Wait for Update 1.10 and get free demount kits and 50 000 extra silver credits for each converted-to-Class-1 equipment you want to sell.

So mount all the stuff in the depot, then wait for it to be automatically demounted?

Simple, safe answer for me and you:

If you followed my original, incorrect advice (I guess it is incorrect): Just redo what you did. Remount all the stuff you demounted based on my incorrect advice. Then wait for Update 1.10. You'll get some free demount kits, and be able to earn more demount kits as well, I think (not sure -- read Wargaming articles I gave links to above). If you know more, then definitely change this answer I gave. Sorry, I am tired of the time spent on posting.

If you did not follow my original, incorrect advice (I think it is incorrect, like I just noted): Don't do anything. Pretend this topic I started did not exist. If you know more, then definitely change this answer I gave. I am tired of the time spent on posting.

EDIT:

Hi again _bishop_x,

I just wrote this. Hope it helps:

How did I come up with the 50 000 difference in extra silver credits you would get if you did not sell the equipment before Update 1.10? Here is my explanation, be it clear or not:

There are two ways:

Way #1: Selling presently an equipment that costed 500 000 silver credits to buy originally, you would get 250 000 (half of what you paid for it). Then after Update 1.10's Equipment 2.0 comes into effect, you buy the Class 3 level equipment for 50 000 silver credits. You still have 200 000 silver credits left, which is what I call a profit of 200 000 silver credits.

OR

Way #2: Waiting for Update 1.10's Equipment 2.0 to come into effect: With Equipment 2.0 coming into effect, certain pieces of equipment are converted to Class 1 level. In comparison, the same Class 1 level equipment if you bought with silver credits yourself  -- not get from that conversion of an equipment you had -- would cost you 600 000 silver credits each. But if it is one of the aformentioned converted-to Class 1 equipment pieces, then you did not pay anything new for it. Either way, you can then sell that Class 1 level equipment and get 300 000 silver credits (selling anything gives you half of it's price).

But this making a profit of silver credits only happens, of course, if it was one of those converted-to Class 1 level pieces ( because you're getting it for "free" ), not any Class 1 level piece you buy yourself for 600 000 silver credits. So after selling a converted-to -- not bought by yourself -- Class 1 equipment piece, then you can buy for 50 000 silver credits the same type of equipment at the Class 3 level for a low tier tank of yours that has any slot for mounting it (an exception are tier 1 vehicles, which have no slots for mounting any equipment, if I read correctly in a Wargaming article). You would have 250 000 left (300 000-50 000=250 000). That's what I call a profit of 250 000. And that is 50 000 more than the 200 000 you would have if you did it Way #1. That's what I mean when I say you would lose out on 50 000 (fifty thousand) silver credits if you did it Way #1, instead of this Way #2.
