I'd give reasons as too why, but talking about chat bans could lead to forum bans according to the rules.  And since WG seems to be playing loose on what they will and won't punish its best not to comment past saying 'no comment'.

I don't think that discussing the system itself is against the rules. Discussing bans, I can see.

I've gotten 1 forum ban, and three in game chat bans in the last month.  I am not going to push it.  Good luck with your poll.  I voted, but yeah good luck.

It's out of control, all of a sudden out of nowhere I got chatbanned a bunch of times.  Like most things WG, it's terribly implemented.  I'm completely convinced it does nothing to take # of battles into account, so if you drop a couple f bombs over 50 battles you get hit the same as someone dropping it left and right in a single battle.  If you try to appeal it you don't get a response until your chatban is mostly served/completely served, and then they send back a handful of ridiculous examples that are clearly just some support person picking and choosing some comments you made that they don't like.  These were actual standalone/no context comments they quoted to me as reasons why I deserved a chatban:

are there cancer missions going on or something?

big porn night?

literally went the wrong way cause im retarded

Tickets get closed out so you can't have a conversation.  Their rules and their support do nothing to make it clear what is bannable (I'm guessing the people that write the rules don't even know, and I'm confident the support agents don't know) - I straight up asked them to help me clearly understand what's ok and what is not and...well, every time I talk to someone the answer is different.  It is what it is, WG is a garbage Russian company that has no interest in things like transparency or consistency, and it shows.

Mostly I believe they've just all of a sudden started auto-chatbanning for X # of profanities, something they weren't doing before.

Just another system, along with the removal of all-chat, that kills any sense of community in the game just because of a few crybabies.

DIsputed a chat ban. Edited.

You are going to want to edit this. This may be seen as disputing a chatban which is a forum strike.

It is a pretty simple concept on this game and forum just like on the other social media out there.

Don't use foul language and you are golden.

Otherwise you get banned of the chat or forum!

I would like to add 1 thing however, This means I can't put down WHAT words and AT WHOM IT WAS DIRECTED I was banned for.   The problem with that is it provides context/POTENTIAL evidence to other players that something might be wrong.    I have my ticket from my last chat ban.   It has what I said.   Now the rules state I can't bring that up(and I won't past this sentence).  But it would help show how silly some of these bans can be.

It's not a simple concept.  That hasn't been a consistent rule, it seems to be a new one, but there's no clarity around it.  If they want to chatban people for profanity, they need to actually tell us about it.  The root cause of this is they don't actually have a consistent policy, which is why they can't/won't tell us anything about how anything works.  Putting rules in place is fine, but you need to tell the players what the rules actually are.  Two months ago I didn't get chatbanned for using profanity.  Now all of a sudden there's an autoban going on for it they won't give us any details on?  That's garbage.

Thank you for the info, I know you're only providing it with good intentions, but I truly don't care.  For the record I'm not complaining/disputing what happened to me, I'm relaying actual feedback they gave me in a ticket about why it happened to show how braindead their whole system is.  Hey look, KRZYBooP showed up - hey man, can you honestly answer the question of why we can't have consistent/transparent rules so players know what's expected of them?  What are the rules when it comes to chat?  What is allowed, and what is not?

Hint -- Just play the game and don't chat that might keep you out of trouble.

Usually when you get banned you did something!

I get conflicted on this. I try never to say anything bad to another player, but I have had cases where I learned from constructive criticism (yes it does exist in this game - such as don’t block me in that position or even “w key 257” when I for some reason had a brain fart and wouldn’t move despite being the one with HP) vs **** you moron, etc, which should be banned. I think context does mean something.

That being said, I have seen less toxic comments lately so I do like that. But I wonder if we’re losing some useful info also.
