This is a superb video about the King Tiger.  There is no commentary, just fantastic, unique sights of the tank and the sounds of its Maybach engine.  :)  It shows what the inside of this tank looks like and also shows the tank from the very unique views of a drone following it.  The King Tiger weighs more than a modern day M1 Abrams main battle tank, which was a huge drawback for the King Tiger as the metallurgy of the time could not create metals strong enough to withstand the massive weight of the tank.  As a result, driveline, steering gear and suspension parts frequently broke.  Just in light duty museum service, the King Tiger in this video has had it's transmission fail several times.  The King Tiger weighs so much that during WWII, it could not cross most bridges in Europe without the bridge collapsing!  Then there was the fuel economy, or lack thereof, consuming gallons to the mile, at a time when Germany was critically short of fuel.  Having run out of fuel, many King Tigers were abandoned and blown up by their own crews.  The surviving King Tiger in this video is the only example anywhere in the world of a running, operating King Tiger and it's in immaculate condition. It's worth millions of dollars.

Can you imagine being a soldier and having this beast coming your way?!  A bazooka?  Might as well throw a rock at it.  There was never any documented case of a King Tiger being penetrated from the front.  If Nazi Germany hadn't been so critically short of fuel and other natural resources, they still would have lost, but World War II would have gone on much longer, with many more people dying.  :(

the problem with these "King Tigers" is that you can easily defeat them by hitting almost any armor plate with a gold round from a higher tier tank.

Not since the buff a couple of weeks ago. :)  The gun and the armor has been improved.
