Howdy Boom Jockeys!

 

This map has already appeared on Supertests before Update 1.0.
Since all resources at the time were put into the release of the reworked maps, this map was put on the back burner.

In the current iteration, the map was reassembled to fit modern technologies. Some gameplay changes were also made.

Spoiler

1. The direction for heavy tanks with a lot of cover from the enemy tank lines of fire and SPGs.

2. The top of the hill for fast light and medium tanks. The underground part for heavily armored heavy tanks.

3. The area for light tanks, scouting, and long-distance lines of fire.

How does one pronounce this " J port " or  "Jap port" or "push teammates into the water Port"?

Looks like the northwest area (Turrets 2 & 3 area) of the main Frontlines map.

The name got me thinking...

 

Is that map based on Kure ship building port at Hiroshima Prefecture? Same place where I think Yamato was born-IJN Yamato?

half and half maps, especially those at 800x800 and under - but also at 1km x 1km are bad map designs especially at high tiers due to vision saturation.

 

the devs intend for part of the map to be for, and I quote:  "The area for light tanks, scouting, and long-distance lines of fire."

 

which any reasonably intelligent player knows means that area can't reasonably be pushed so they just don't go there most of the time.  (especially when there aren't any physical/hard cover means of advancing such as even minimally rolling terrain)

 

y'all might as well just make it a full city map, because most of the paper tanks played by even semi-competent players aren't going to willingly go to the "open side" without hard cover unless it offers angles into the city (ruinbergcrap) or unless they're already tilted from non stop bad meta maps... and just want to up their aggro so they can alt+f4

 

witness this map.  even roughly 30% of the open area is unreachable mountainous blocked off areas of the map.  very little hard or soft cover.  I'd rather take my LTs under ground to try to kite shots against the heavies than feed arty or tier 10 TDs my hps...

Dont get overly excited. This map has been "in the works" since before update 1.0. At the rate they actually introduce maps into the game, we wont see this until sometime after update 3.0.

I appreciate new maps. I'd love even more to have the old removed maps returned to the game. Dragon Ridge, Port, Severgorsk, Northwest, Komarin, Hidden Village, South Coast, Mittengard, Sacred Valley, Stalingrad, Swamp, and Windstorm.

glade to see all this money grabbing is for wg to just bring back an old map with a few tweaks and call it a new map. wg working as little as intended for all that money they take in.. or as the company say it best working as intended.

Heck parts of this map are from the 1v1 tourney and the others from the Port map.  

All old maps.

Heck port used to be fun at Tier 6/7 and under.
