Is this still going on? Guys, I checked the CT and I could still talk after being dead. They disabled PINGING.

Chat in the game seems to all turn to frustrated people taking out their problems in verbal abuse of whomever they find available.   I would dare guess the way people act, and the inability of others to deal with some typed words without needing a safe space, and a crying closet will eventually lead to muting of all chat.      Snowflakes going to pile up, and smother all of us.

I've never understood how easily ignorable glowing text on a screen has the absolute ability to trigger someone into extreme emotions.

It's sad that the 1% of snowflakes have to ruin communication for all. And why WG removes core features of their game to please these people is beyond me.

It's not that hard to figure out. In all things, follow the money trail. If people get offended, they stop spending money. WG is all about making money. LOTS of money. They will gladly make minor changes like chat to ensure the dollar flow doesn't get interrupted.

More people will leave the game overtime due to lack of community than the 1% that get offended.

If this goes through it will be such a bad change it's insane. When I'm trying to clutch 1v4 at the end of the game, I am often asking teammates for last know positions of enemy tanks such as arty. The ability to do well in these endgame scenarios is very dependent on talking with my teammates.

 

Also this change, the ridiculous chat-ban system, and the turning off of all-chat are all features that kill any sense of community in random battles. We might as well be playing with bots.

that's a nice sentiment, but inaccurate.  more players will leave when their free speech is infringed upon.  even more so when there are already chat filters and the ability to blacklist any player so you don't have to hear them. after my second chat ban i stopped spending.  i have a permanent chat ban and stopped playing.    they don't care as long as you idiots just keep buying every little POS premium tank they come out with.  vote with your wallet

no such thing as free speech in a private game or forum. you agreed to follow wg's rules every patch, yet the perma chat ban shows otherwise. maybe you should address your parents for their inability to teach you a modicum of self control. that is where your issue truly lies

They said the same thing when they took away inter-team chat. But there was no mass exodus as predicted. That turned into wishful thinking and nothing more.

Dood...there IS NO "free speech" on the forum nor in the game. Speech is 100% regulated by WG. And you not playing and not spending doesn't bother WG one iota. For every person like you that does his little "personal boycott", there are literally hundreds more that are gonna spend and play.

Well then you have the simple choice of going back to your construction site, or staying here and playing by whatever rules WG decides to adopt. Again, WG doesn't really care if you stay or leave. You are NOT indispensable to the game.

The game is much better after all chat was banned.

They are now taking the next step and take out team chat.

Because many of those people demonstrate repeatedly that they are annoying prootwaddles (redundant, I know) without the least sense of courtesy or decency and who failed miserably at every "works and plays well with others" test they received in life.  Many of the remainder are snowflakes who don't know how to ignore prootwaddles or where the "turn off general chat in game" checkbox is.

 

So, because of the two groups, Mom takes the toys away and demonstrates, yet again, why we can't have nice things.
