The hardest part of this game is caring. Do you really care about your stats? sure we all like a good fight but how many good fights vs. bad fights have you had? I like to have fun, trying to have fun is not in my interest. Some will say they like to challenge themselves, I say really? You're going to challenge yourself with a game? with the player number dropping like they are so is the caring to play and win matches. way more fun to launch an EBR off a cliff doing a few barrel rolls. this is not a pun at the game but more of a pun at people's attitudes.

when you go axe throwing, bowling, cornhole, horseshoes, pick up basketball, tennis, handball, raquetball, play golf, darts or pool or any other type of social game do you always just go in there and hurl the game set across the room for memes?

likely not, and that's why people strive to get better at a "just a game"

I'd say the opposite is true. The hardest part is not caring. It's so easy to get sucked into stats and winrate, and so hard to just let it go. I've experienced this personally during my time on Blitz, and I can tell you it is not fun at all.

The game attracts a lot of people that are well known for making others miserable in real life typically the sort that do whatever they want regardless how it impacts others so when they come here they don't care how their play negatively impacts their teams. Before all the changes these were the sort that often push teammates into opposing fire let alone just kill them outright now days it is mostly botters and the usual escape blockers that are plaguing the game.

I think that the hardest part about this game is trying to recreate 'that one game'. You know, that game where you pulled of a miraculous carry/comeback, or that everything went just your way and you played like a 'god'.

I'm sure that almost everyone has had at least one of those games. And, trying to repeat that type of game, for most of us, is nearly impossible.

I care about stats, but not obsessed or something about them, I do my best and the stats just fall where they do. I guess the stats just reflect how well I am doing, which like any game, I want to do better and better.

But I do have fun, even if a lose ten in a row, I do not quit for the day, I have fun regardless.

And yes, challenge myself with a game, I find that normal. Not all life's challenges have to be some dramatic, I climbed that mountain thing.

As you can plainly see in the above graphic, player numbers have not dropped in at least the last 2 years (other than a temporary 5 months between July & December of 2019)... if anything, they are up a bit... at worst they are very stable.

Claiming that player numbers are decreasing is an old and inaccurate diatribe.

People have a vast range of motivations for doing activities of all sorts.  Not all of those motivations are consistent with games, team play, and certainly not WoT.

To call out one motivation above all others present in WoT is overly simplistic.

I only care about the tanks I like and the winrate in them and I try to at least have a decent wn8 around 1400 +.The other numbers i could give a happy monkey s$!t about.

Imagine devoting enough time to accumulate 69,000 battles and you still don't care. That's a hell of a lot of time spent not caring. I think that says something about you.

I'm curious to see Front Line and Steel Hunter modes overlapped for comparison as well as a few other things just out of curiosity.  I know I've played both modes but have not played a pub match in probably a month or better so in pubs...the player count might be down but in the game it might be stable.  What do you think?

The hardest part is just living with the fact the people who developed this game in Minsk and maintain it to this day have no interest in balancing the game and making an enjoyable player experience.

I've adapted by playing a lot less.

The hardest part of this game is my half-@$$ donkey performance puts me above 99% of the other players.

That I don't understand. I'm not some genius, I'm getting old now, my reflexes aren't what they used to be. Yet somehow I'm top 1%. I don't get it. It actually pisses me off.

EDIT: Second is many players can't fathom how to "get better" because they blame their poor performance on any and every excuse possible, no matter how far fetched to avoid blaming themselves.

Hey I know I am not the greatest (or even within 10,000 of being) and I am more out to have fun.

I come in sometimes to blow off steam and sometimes to just PO people with my leafblower.

If I was serious about my stats I would have stayed platooning in my B2.

In respect to the graphic I posted, I don't believe it matters whether the graphic depicts only pub battles or all battles available from WoT API, because it is a 2 year time frame and Frontlines/Strongholds etc. have been in WoT for 2 or more years. The point is, are there more or less battles being fought in WoT now, or 2 years ago... and the answer is; it's about the same, possibly up a bit.

I use the same website but the question isn't disputing that the player(s) figures have gone down, they have, just NOT in the past two years.

I guess it boils down to how "dramatic" the original posters are. Or the statue of limitation.

Actually, to be fair, what percentage of posters will claim "the population figures have gone down !" and apply any logical argument that would indicate a reason whilst adhering to the fact that those figures haven't gone down in the last two years.
