No, it does indeed give an advantage (albeit slight) in the right hands, and, in addition to that, it is also a mod that breeds toxicity and bad gameplay in the wrong hands, both of which should, by all rights, make it considered illegal.

That has absolutely nothing to do with privacy. Any argument that they need consent is sheer nonsense. Showing stats or not showing stats is a design choice, completely unrelated to any privacy issues.
