Do you guys block maps? If yes, which ones (most commonly)?

I especially do not like a few maps, still. Nowadays it has less to do with my overall comfort level than I think they're so limiting in design that I just don't like the layout.
Paris, Empire's Border, Studzianki, Minsk -- all these are relatively newer maps and all of them, for their size, still reduce the overall player options for consideration down to two and three chokepoints, a whole LOT of absolutely USELESS terrain and features with a few other lines and lanes by which the enterprising and quite lucky soul might flank and gank the opposing team.
And other maps also have their issues, to be sure. Even so, learning to deal with the maps instead of avoid them WILL, IMO, make a player a better player on the whole. So wing up for you, OilerCannonball on that attitude.

Thanks for all the great answers!
Right now I block Mountain Pass and Himmelisdorf. Thanks again.

I do not block any maps and I play as many modes as I can.
That's just me, though. I might be one in every ten thousand players as a wild guess.
I have some odd views about what makes a player a better player. One of them is learning to do well on maps you hate, because it means you've overcome some mental 'bugaboo' that allowed your emotions to cloud your ability to perform on the map. And that's NOT an insult or belittling comment, I'm in the same camp if I fall into that line of thinking.
I have trained my self to dig into things that make me want to go the other way. My experience is that this is the single best way to get good at going outside of your comfort zone, until one day, you'll find that your 'comfort zone' is always stretching out a bit farther each time you do something to the point where you seek it out.
I did mention I'm an odd man out in this matter.

I have not played assault in 5 years and have not played encounter in 3 years. CIRCON is the same and he also only plays standard battles.
I BAN Empires Ridge because so many games are just so lopsided. WG knows how bad this map is and removed encounter has a big rework planned with 2 or 3 different versions of the rework.
I also BAN Studinisky because I really LOATHE that map. It is such a shoebox. If the map was wider so you could not snipe across it would not be so bad.
I wish I could BAN Mines and Paris, but as bad as those two maps are, I feel Empire and Studinisky are worse. Also, I just get Studinisky constantly and way, way, more than Paris or Mines.

Paris is still bad, but usually ends quickly. So does Ensk. And I rarely get those, compared to the above ones.
My thoughts exactly and the same with mines as I always charge hill so that is why I don't ban Ensk, Mines and Paris because they are usually over fast, win or lose.

I loved Swamp. It's a shame they haven't put it back into the rotation.
I miss Swamp too, but the reason it was removed is because it was one of the most imbalanced maps in the game with the north/west spawn winning a very, very large majority of the games by pushing north and then flanking south.

So you enjoy games where maybe 3-4 players on each side are actively playing and the rest are hiding in the bushes?
How is this any different than the way play is conducted on ALL the maps in this game? Maybe, one day, all folks will be willing to -- oh, I don't know, learn the rules of the game and apply them maybe -- play at a different level and work more in line with the premise of the game.
So the comment about only 3 or 4 folks being active on those maps is NO DIFFERENT than the other 38 maps available in randoms?
I guess what my point is, is that your point can easily be made to ANY map in rotation, because only 3-5 player per team, regularly, are the ones doing round 70% of all the effort in quantifiable terms. Thus, it really doesn't carry much 'weight' as far as dismissing someone else's enjoyment of a particular map.
