is there an option i am missing to set a preferred font and size for the editor here on the forums or do we as peasants not allowed those options. looking to just set font to bold georgia and size 14 And it keep for all future posts.

Just use default, much easier on peoples eyes.

As far as making it a default/preferred setting not that I'm aware of OP.

OP I don't use them much, but what about a browser add on like Dark Reader or Midnight Lizard for Mozilla. 

 

It makes the screen dark for night time reading which should better show the text as it'll be on a dark background.  Side effect may be that the forum function buttons get defaulted to text.  I know it does with Midnight Lizard which is what I use for Firefox.

 

There may be other browser extensions/add ons that fit what you want better, but a night time reader came to mind.  You mentioned font and highlighting, so guessing it's not just the text size which can be "fixed" by zooming the browser.  Good thing with the night time readers is most can be turned on and off easily. 

 

Screen shot is Midnight Lizard for Firefox.  There are others out there and good luck.  Screenshot is smaller than the displayed text as it's from "reply" mode.
