Crew 2.0 - I have not seen 1 single benefit of doing this.  A lot of compensation coming players way for premium tanks, bunks among other purchases players made BECAUSE the crew system is what it currently is!

Bunks for sure but frankly a lot of premium tanks were sold specifically as crew trainer under crew 1.0 that will lose enormous value under crew 2.0.

Will this compensation be in monetary refunds?

my answer to this as a company would be one most wouldn't like, but regardless;  you gained full benefit of having the bunks from the time of purchase till now.  Therefore, no compensation is required as you no longer need the bunks for crew space.  In other words, you got your money's worth already.

Yeah? And your answer from many of your customers would be: "Screw me? Screw you!"

They have the game, but we have the money. Each side is, of course, welcome to do what they want with what is theirs.

Crew 2.0 is the same system used in WOWS and it sucks, but WG thinks WOWS's is a better game than WOT's.

Instead of making such a radical change, why not just introduce the new skills in the current system.

Here are some questions.

I spent GOLD on bunks.  Will that be reimbursed?

I spent GOLD on crew resets.  Will that be reimbursed?

I spent GOLD on changing crew specialties.  Will that be reimbursed?

I spent GOLD changing the faces and names of my crew members.  Will that be reimbursed?

I spent GOLD and CASH on ZERO skill crews by buying the Cromwell B/Berlin tanks several times.  Will that be reimbursed?

Seems like tens of thousands of GOLD will be coming my way.

NOT!!!!!!!!!!

I doubt many will leave over crew bunks.

They'll leave because the system will allow you to make ridiculous accuracy on tanks not designed around ridiculous accuracy...or give tanks ridiculous mobility on tanks not designed  around ridiculous mobility.

Or...they'll stay because of how over powered their tanks are about to get.

Me, I'm kinda looking forward to it for just that reason.

Yes, I wish they wouldn't do it. And yes, I'm going to lose a metric crapton of actual money (from my point of view, and I don't want to argue about it).

But. This will add complexity and nuance to the game, just as Equipment 2.0 did. That will provide a further advantage to those who are willing to try and master that. Equipment 2.0 brought a *bunch* of tanks "back to life" for me, because now you can work around specific gimps. Hellcat, among others, I'm looking at you.

I expect Crew 2.0 to do the same thing.

Really, my primary concern, as it was with Equipment 2.0, is fair compensation. I had the equivalent of a few thousand dollars in equipment at stake but I've got a lot more invested in crews. Trying to get over 400 tanks (so not counting the premiums) to have at least decent crews is not cheap in any way, shape, or form.

Wargaming, Do Not Screw This Up.

Please.

I made purchases in good faith that what I was buying offered a certain value.  If it no longer offers value because of a bait and switch sales tactic, then their is a problem.  Maybe a legal problem maybe not but certainly a consumer confidence problem.  I couldn't trust buying bundles or premium tanks anymore if WG demonstrates they will bait and switch the value of that purchase on me.

Make no mistake, crew 2.0 is a bait and switch!

Look, as long as my British crew that I renamed sticks I'm happy. I would hate to lose my commander Major Dix, Gunner Wiley Dobbs, Radio man Seymour Balls, or Leroy Jenkins, my expert yolo driver.  The fact that these are available as stock names makes me giggle

You would keep commander Dix the rest will all be gone under the crew 2.0 system they are imposing on us.  So that premium you bought specifically because it had a radio operator slot... Yeah that was a bait and switch.

This right here, is the problem >   /\ /\ /\ /\ /\ /\ /\ /\ /\ /\ /\ /\ /\ /\ /\ /\ /\ /\ /\ /\ /\ /\ /\ /\ /\  Yes, we do have the money but most of us are either to dumb or to afraid to withhold it from them.  We just came off of Christmas and if we don't want to get screwed over or want to have a say in what they plan to do with our crew, the solution is very, very simple:

STOP SPENDING MONEY ON THIS GAME.

Even if they compensate with gold everything, crew 2.0 will still hurts badly the game. There is so many game mechanics that will be screwed up with this. Just see equipment 2.0, while is was not as bad as they initially proposed, it made many people complain, rant and even feel robbed because simply they were not clearly informed. Just imagine an average or returining player that don't keep on forums or new sites come one day and find out everything is screwed up.

Sounds like this post is more about refunds and compensation and less about the actual changes.
My experience is WG has been sufficiently generous when removing or changing an aspect that relied upon cash/gold payments in the past, or even credits.
Actual gameplay changes aside, I am confident WG's level of compensation will not be the factor in whether or not I am motivated to keep playing.
On the other hand, a massive compensation--like loads of free adjustment-related loot/credits--might inspire me to suffer through a greater amount "messing with my game" discomfort.

And if WG closed up shop tomorrow.  Pulled the plug.  404, not found.  Everything gone.  Server hamsters released back into the wild, servers melted for scrap, offices converted into housing for the homeless (many of which are former WG devs who have no real skills beyond screwing things up), gone, gone, GONE.

What compensation or remedy do you think you'd be entitled to then?  Court injunction requiring them to keep the servers running for your personal benefit?

Don't be surprised if they say,
"Thanks for pointing that out, we've removed 80% of everybody's barracks slots since they have less crew to put in them." And they give no compensation.

It's actually stated in the EULA that you do not own anything you have purchased from them. You're sort of "renting" the content from them and if anything happens to that "rent", well sucks to be you.

They have all the power to alter and take away anything and everything you own, they just don't out of common courtesy/fear of less sales in the future.
