My impression, so far:
Comms 2.0: utter failure. Comms are much worse, and used less, than they were prior. Grade? E.
Platoon 2.0: Meh. Grade C, or possibly Incomplete. It's a bit of a step forward, and I like the intent, but the implementation is quite weak. Still, it didn't hurt anything. It was in no ways a step backwards, unlike Comms 2.0.
Equipment 2.0: I now feel like I'm "done" with that, because with the Christmas box gold/silver, and last weekend's 50% equipment sale, I FINALLY got all my tanks re-equipped the way I want them, and was able to sell off the "excess" up-converted Level 1 stuff on Monday. I didn't keep total track of the coin in/out, but my impression is that, while my compensation would have allowed me to re-equip to the same status as before more or less as a wash, that's not how it worked out in practice, and I "lost", or one could say, chose to spend, a considerable amount dealing with Equipment 2.0 over and above the compensation
So, the whole thing was a huge amount of work (tank collectors have their own special First World problems), and a fair amount of cash, as I bought a lot of new equipment at full price because I couldn't stand to play the tanks gimped, and WG was very, very stingy with the equipment sales post-Equip 2.0. I don't say that to whine; it was intentional on their part, and I knew it, and I paid anyways, my choice. But it still is what it is.
Aside from the expense and hassle, which was considerable, I like Equipment 2.0 a lot. You can un-gimp gimped tanks with it, and do specialized builds. These things are fun for me, and I also think they benefit skilled/experienced/interested players more than the more casual players. Since I am at least experienced and interested, if not skilled, they benefit me in battle, and I have more fun. Bottom line? With Equipment 2.0 I'm spending more money, but having more fun. Which, of course, is exactly what WG wanted. Well-played, WG. Overall grade for Equipment 2.0? B
