As a result, we decided to visually rework and build up the current Platoon system by making it more functional, efficient, and convenient. Let’s see how it will work. "

• Continue to enjoy the original functionality of Platoons, such as the Platoon bonuses, credit bonuses, etc

I would be glad with the current system if only they would make it +1/ -1 tier platooning. The same tier is stupid.

Back in my day, a KV-2 could see tier 10 in platoons... Or a T1 Cunningham...

The point of same-tier platoons is for balance. There is no reason to bring a T1 Heavy with a KV-2 in a platoon just to get sucked into a T8 game where the T1 is even more useless than it being in a T7 game. It also prevents trolls from intentionally bringing 2 lower tier tanks with a high tier one to screw over games. How could anyone argue against same-tier platoons??

As for the new system, I already know its going to create balance issues. We know MM tries to balance platoons against each other, 1 3-man platoon will be placed against a 3-man on the enemy team. Now with the automated system placing automatically placing higher-skill players together when forming platoons, you're effectively going to guarentee the battle to be lop-sided. It's already bad enough when purples platoon and effectively roll an entire flank by themselves, but pitting 1 mediocre platoon against a higher-skilled platoon (as will happen a lot) is just dooming games. You're effectively rolling the dice by going into pubs while not in a platoon because if you're even halfway decent, using this platoon system just means youre going to have 2 less mediocre players on your team by default. 

WG needs to fix MM first, starting with how skill is rated and balanced on either team. Then get rid of +2 tier MM as nobody likes it. Then you can bother with tweaking platoons because its been working as intended for years. Why go and break more things that don't need fixing.

I have to agree with you. Although a player like me will benefit from this, I don't find the game as fun as it used to be. Nowadays, it's massacre after massacre. Games don't last and it's just not fun.

how about single player 2 : when u play as single player u get no platoon teams alley and enemy

its not faire play as single player agents platoons

One thing that I'm sure has been noticed (or maybe not)

If they can match platoon members by WTR.

Why cant they do Match Making by WTR?

Inquiring minds would like to know.

Also, why use player rating to find a platoon with a limit of +/- 500 WTR but NOT do that with random matching!? doesn't that defeat the purpose of "having a balanced platoon" when the game itself is unbalanced??

You need to understand that the more parameters they have in the match making, the longer it will take to find a game. This is as simple as that.

 

Also, I think wtr isn't super relevent to balance games.

 

The higher your wtr, the most consistent you are with your performance.

 

They could "balance" a match with a fair amount of 5k or 6k wtr between each side, but it doesn't mean these players will perform good. In fact, they are more likely to be inconsistant and not perform. This is how you get games that end 3-15.

I miss +3/-3 matchmaking with fail platoons. Back when I was a new player, I enjoyed playing the Hetzer while platoon with people who were around tier 8.
