Just use this space to share your "love" for the HE ammo rework that WG has invested so much time and effort into, instead of addressing trivial matters such as the "special" ammo rebalance.

 

Remember: the only way to stop WG for messing up the game even more is to make a big fuss about it (remember Rubicon?). So go and make your voice sound lound and clear, folks.

Big thing here is that a load of tanks which use derp guns....the T49, Sheridan, KV-2, the Japanese heavies, and numerous other tanks, will have to be rebalanced.

 

As someone else said, this 'rework' will catch a load of flak in Russia, as they love the KV-2 religiously over there. Hopefully, we'll see this rework shut down before it gets a chance to come anywhere near the live servers.

Maybe they'll give the 152mm AP round 190 pen standard and 225 premium hehehehe.

 

I'm curious what this does to premium tanks like KV-2R as it fundamentally changes something people paid for.  If the KV-2 retains the crazy derp round mechanics (not sure that's possible or too hard to code) it might actually be worth buying.

No one asked them to nerf HE.

HE focused tanks are already balanced. Why do they insist on changing something when it doesn't need any change?

If it ain't broke, dont fix it. It's that simple.

Because almost everyone in a Chieftain or 279e is complaining about it.  And I own a Chieftain, HE never bothered me.

The HE rework is actually great. Seems to be being received rather well too. Just the bads who want easy mode damage to stick around dont like it.

They did specifically say they would deal individually with the HE specific tanks.

It seemed pretty balanced when I tried it out tonight. For example,  well landed shot to the side of an AMX 13 75 did a bit over 300 damage from the 105 on my easy8, but a rushed snap shot at a funky angle as he made to escape, only landed 17 damage and a critical hit. This makes people aim and work angles. I see that as a huge positive. I think it’s garbage game play  that a kv2 (or other derp guns) can basically aim at your silhouette at all and one shot you. High alpha is one thing, but that’s just god mode.

 

A definite improvement was the indicator when you failed to cause damage. It showed a standard bouce, but also showed when you hit, but failed to penetrate and cause spalling. It was informative and helped to understand why the shot didn’t connect and cause damage. More useful than “that one bounced”.

 

Looking forward to experiment with tracking and shooing HE through destructible terrain.

Bull Crap you just have to be obtuse on every topic. The VAST majority on EU hate the change and are saying why no one asked for it. RU server voted this crap down last time and I hope they do again. You poked around huh well your translation program isn't working.

Your always blaming the "bads" is as annoying as the bads constantly blaming WoT rigging for their ills/ It works both ways. Lower your head your nose is so far in the air you might run into something you cant see.

Nah... ive been looking around... seems pretty well received on all the servers, at least on EU and RU didnt bother going to SEA since that forums is so tiny it wouldnt really matter all that much either way. A couple of bads that are sad their favourite toxic tanks wont be as toxic anymore but generally well received. The announcement videos on Youtube have good like:dislike ratios. People on Reddit seem generally accepting of it. Played 40 battles on the test server today, spammed nothing but HE. The world did not end, the game was still playable and HE still had its uses. Bad players wouldnt know what was good for the game if it walked up and punched them in the face, so I just dont listen to them when it comes to matters of game balance. Want to be listened to? Be good at the game. Then we can talk.

LOL Nah I have been to. However neither of our opinions on what is going on matters. They are going ahead this time with the change IMO. So it is what it is....but your sill wrong :)

The mechanics of the reworked HE make a heck of a lot more sense than the old ones. However, it's doing too little damage at this point. Running non-HE specific tanks, I am seeing only about 20-80 HP of damage at Tier 6/7. It's still good for reliable damage without having to pen, but it's just too minimal. I could see leaving the new mechanics in place, but upping the damage by a reasonable percentage.

Just because you can't see it doesn't mean it's not broken. This change could be huge in the balance between wheelies and tracked LTs. Spoiler: wheels are no longer treated as spaced armor.

The way to fix that is to change the wheels on the EBRs so that they don't behave as spaced armor.  Problem solved for all shell types on all vehicles without messing around with other parts of the game.

This is the reason for the rework. Didn't you get the memo? Plebs shouldn't be allowed to damage them when they're hull down.

All I know is this:  I've been trying to do HT12 (off and on) for FOUR years and every time I give it another go, I'm met with HE to the face over, and over and over.  Generally speaking, I don't like loathe change, but this seems like a step in the right direction.

Maybe, but will they count 0-damage HE hits as bounced shots?  Currently they do not on the live server.

 

Will players just refrain from firing at you at all?  That won't help you bounce shots either.

 

Will players load up high pen HEAT and spam it at you all day?  Probably, but that seems to be how all the matches are anymore.

 

In essence you have discovered that the problem you are encountering has more to do with WG insisting on having campaign missions rely on RNG and luck rather than skill.
