So far this vehicle has failed to disappoint me. For some reason I thought the DPM would be a major deal breaker, but turns out i'd rather take the hit for amazing gun handling.

Its just such a reliable vehicle. Yes you fire every 13 seconds but every time you do it hurts. It's tier 10 proof with OP heat shells. When top tier you can actually bully heavy tanks with your superior pen and actually great armor. 

I think the only scenario in which this tank really fails is playing lone wolf. But if you stick with at least 1 or 2 teamates you should be good to go, its much more versatile than people might think. Also, I expected much more people try to out-DPM me but I was surprised to see that it wasnt the case. 

What are your thoughts on it?

Btw I run it with vents, rammer and v stab, plus an overkill type 59 crew with 5 perks. I might actually upgrade my bounty rammer for this vehicle.

It isn't a fast, carry tank.  

 

As the OP, I also have found it to be pretty enjoyable.

I like it.  Just play it hull down or from a distance.  Turret is great.  Gun is amazing!  Use the long reload as a timer for being unspotted once you're lit up.  Having some decent games in it, but it definitely isn't fast enough to play aggressive early.  I've tried several aggressive plays to get to positions on the map and it just doesn't have the juice to get their before the red team has people in position to defend.

Plugging away with the compare in game and tanks gg this tank is best with either an upgraded bounty rammer or the bond rammer and rations. Would have gotten the 3D skin for cheap but got screwed with the black outs last week and black market is rumored to start this week so didn't pay that huge gold price.

-besides the DPM, I have relatively enjoyed the gun thus far. 233mm APCR With good shell velocity is very comfortable to play with and I prefer to play it more as a second-line support to brawling with someone around me to keep me covered during the reload, which is undeniably an absolute pain. Still, I'm much more comfortable with it than a fair number of other guns in tiers (*cries in M4 Rev*) and it's certainly something unordinary for a Chinese tank. I was also pleasantly surprised by the accuracy overall, as I expected the softstats to actually really mess with the gun (as it does with the T42) but I only had one battle where it really trolled the hell out of me. Oh and while 400 Alpha can hurt especially on lowrolls (Chimera hits harder and has a faster reload), I generally didn't hate it that much because most of the time the gun hit and penned.

-the armour I really don't think I have enough games to judge. Thus far it has worked well for me. In the 17 Games I played I only got shot twice in the cupolas; one a non-pen by an enemy 122 TM With HEAT, the other a pen by an E-50 While we were sidescraping off of the same rock so only like 10-20m. The hull front has bounced more than I was expecting (I felt bad for a Bisonte who bounced two shells on me unangled) and the side armour is good enough for sidescraping on corners. 

-the mobility is undeniably terrible. It's a combination of weak engine, poor p/w and bad terrain resistances (which affect it probably the most). Still for me it wasn't enough for me to be like "Please kill me I'm so slow", though perhaps that was because of how I played it (like a pocket-Heavy). I wasn't expecting it to be fast at all and I wouldn't be opposed to a small buff in that regard, but I still found it serviceable enough.

 

Some additions I would make after playing another 22 Games in the vehicle on the NA Server.

-the DPM Is still rather painful especially when the enemy is aware of it. There was a game the other night playing with Avalon and Tsavo that was probably winnable to a tank like the Obj. 274a or CS-52 LIS With actual DPM As all the enemy tanks remaining were oneshots, but were all in front of me and I simply didn't have the DPM To handle that. It is not a strong vehicle for carrying games which understandably is what probably leads to a lot of flak.

-I've heard that Grousers is actually worth a try to help with the mobility (over Turbo, as the terrain resistances; which Grousers improves; will hold it back from really being a noticeable change). I haven't tried it myself tbh and I'm unsure if I want to as I value my current equipment a bit too much to drop anything.

Well it is definitely not competitive that is for sure. But in pubs where most player don't necessarily know the weaknesses of the tank, it performs really well

Thank you! I like the fact that WG is adding more quirky/weird vehicles to the game. It changes from releasing 4 russian heavy tanks that all play the same lol

Here's the deal, if tier 8 was always top tier, yeah I would probably play something else.  But in the actual game where 9 or 10 is the top tier at least half the time, this is a pretty good tank to have.  I am liking it so far.  Nice to have a tank that can actually move out of its own way but can still threaten most 9 and 10 tanks.

It was fine until it became a pain in my rear 2 nights ago trying to get 2500 damage for that

mission.  Yeah, I like the Chinese tech tree and all. but this is crap.  It needs either a mobility

or a DPM buff.

Been a fun tank for me  ....

 

I picked it up after reaching the 40% discount, then did the 2nd phase missions and got the silly 3d style down to 625 gold  ...

 

I figure I saved more in gold on the camo than trying to get the tank down to the 50% discount

 

I picked up the sniper medal with it in one of my games

Just wait until the honeymoon period is over and it starts getting it's real long-term "soft stats" and MM.

You can't judge new premiums until they release the next flavor of the week and the old one gets shuffled off the peak.

I am saying you are playing it better than you played the CS-52 LIS...because you are.

 

I would assume you know Skill liked the LIS (although he likes the T-44-100 more).

 

The point is that some tanks fit people better than others.  Skill likes tanks that are fast and have good DPM with good guns  This one doesn't fit his style of play.  It seems to fit yours, yet you say it is garbage.  That...doesn't make sense.
