If I am side scraping my tank and launching AP ammo at you that I know will never pen and you are doing the same to me.  Its just rude for you to start shooting HEAT or HE rounds.

Damnt I am trying to get a blocking mission done.  Maybe we could appoint a half hour every week to be the blocking mission time where we just bounce rounds off of each other....

Typically if the Reds know it's your blocking mission, they load nothing but HE.

A couple of months ago, I was in my E100, facing off against another E100.  I was doing the blocking mission.  I pulled up and started to side scrape, and he shot an AP into the side of my turret, then turned his.

I just sat there.  He just sat there.  I waited.  I waited some more.  Then I laughed.  Sent one into his turret to glance off.  He immediately returned fire with AP.

I told my team what was going on...and a 705 said "I am doing that mission as well!"  He came over and started doing the same thing.

By 5 minutes into the battle, all of the heavies on both teams were sending AP at each other for a solid 5 minutes, then pulled back, and we got after it.  Funniest  game I have ever been a part of.

Wish I had been a part of that battle. Very rare to get a good game where the two teams actually work together. Happened in cross chat before people started to get angry for you killing them.

That's nice. I wish I had that mission open when all chat was here for a week

All HE ... All the time ... me and an opposing T29 (U.S. Tier 7 HT) on Lakeville in the valley ... I plunk AP round after AP round clearly off of his manlet with no chance of penetration.  He shoots back nothing but HE ...

Yep. I remember that. Occasionally someone on red team would say "heading for corner at b6, blocking mission, please come shoot my turret, i won't shoot you back" or similar.

Sometimes it worked. I remember helping a few reds over the years when they asked.

Banning cross team chat was a stupid idea. My opinion.

To get a blocking mission done, you need on the red team a player who keeps doing the same thing over and over even though he is repeatedly failing to penetrate. You also need the red teammates not to help that flailing player out by flanking. Then, on your part, it requires you not to kill that player so that he can continue to fail to penetrate again and again. You have to sit there to let yourself take hits, hoping that RNG does not actually let a pen happen.

It is not clear to me how such incredibly stupid play on the part of both teams can be distinguished from rigging.

i was actually thinking "gentlemans agreement" as in terms of "teaming" in Steel Hunter.

I’ve never had to do what you describe to get a blocking mission completed.

Good luck with that. I managed to finish off all of my 260 missions excluding light tanks, and I don't really like playing those so I'll get around to it at some point. Blocked damaged missions really sucks. It used to be not so bad but now that everyone and their mother spams premium or HE it's nearly impossible to do. You'd need a match where people are either too prideful or too stubborn to load either. Had a 62A fail to pen my turret face on my E4 yesterday. After one attempted to pen it he immediately loaded premium to ignore it. So I did the same and smacked the snot out of his turret every time he poked. After the match he complained about it and I simply told him if you play stupid games you win stupid prizes.

Sort of like the T22 rigging fiasco but on a smaller scale.

Not at all to that extreme. Clans dropped in and teamed up to kill off any non-clan players, then sat around and did their missions until time expired.

Two guys who bounce off of each other for a couple of minutes and then play out the game as intended do not really screw over the system and their teammates.
