This, so it doesn't block the collection of them from XVM.

XVM, and any other stats sites are only reading what WG has, so unless WG stops collecting stats they will be able to read them.

Actually, it's a little worse that that in that it's only because WG feeds them stats/doesn't block the ports on their server used to collect data that XVM even works at all.
WG is complicit in the entire XVM problem and also why the anonymizer only functions in battle.

Anonymizer just changes your name to something random during the battle, every battle. This way, eXtended Victim Mentality can't look up your stats.  Once the battle ends they can right click you as usual.

It works. It mainly stops the griefers who pick on a weak player (me) and the idiots who say "Loss" at the beginning of the battle. Of course, it's lots of fun when someone says "Trash team" and then we win.

Without that access, however, there would also be NO MODS of any kind and those mods that have been developed over time that have been shown to be useful have been incorporated into the game.  Additionally, no garage mods, no view mods, no quality of life mods would EVER have been developed by Community members to make the things in the game a bit easier.

They couldn't allow those to occur if they shut down the ports and the ONLY 'positive' in doing so would be XVM's toxicity generation, which is more of a problem with people dealing (or failing to deal) with having access to those stats viewings during a game.

On the whole, I'd say that negative aspect of XVM is worth all the other benefits that came with opening that access.  And I don't use mods at all.  I still think the value overall of having that access is an overall positive.
