Well this video really shows it as it is!  Intense!  You get thrown into high intensity, adrenalin pumping aerial combat right away!  This is a great game and you can earn 50+ gold coins virtually every day, along with huge chunks of XP, much more than in W.o.T!  You can also use those gold coins and XP in W.o.T. if you wish and vice versa.  There's no toxic chat, no cowards hiding in the back, no 2-3 minute lopsided battles and as a result there is far, far less frustration in this game than W.o.T.  The graphics are excellent too!  Note; you don't need a joystick to play this game as your keyboard and mouse get the job done. The British Spitfire in this game handles so well you can just about make her dance across the sky!  With six .303 cal. machine guns, or four .303 machine guns and two 20 mm cannon, or even four 20 mm cannon, she can really pack a punch too!  What a great plane!  The German FW-190 is also great with up to two 30 mm cannon, two 20 mm cannon and two big machine guns!  Whatever is in front of you, when you fire the guns, it's not there for much longer!  "Moo ha haaa!" :)  World of Warplanes is free to play and is in your Waraming Game Center.  Just so the reader knows what I think of this great game, I was the #1 rated pilot in the world in Microsoft Combat Flight Simulator out of 1.5 million registered players, (which is where my screen name comes from), some of which were professional fighter pilots and I endorse this great game!  See you in the skies!  :)

Bandits at 8 o'clock move in behind us
Ten ME-109s out of the sun
Ascending and turning our Spitfires to face them
Heading straight for them I press down my guns!

Rolling, turning, diving
Rolling, turning, diving
Going in again
Rolling, turning, diving
Rolling, turning, diving!...

I use to like WoWP, but since they changed the format, it's total garbage.

Shame videos games are adjusted for players with the attention span of 3 minutes and then become dominate.

He's so correct. They ruined it for the sake of a base that never really materialized, but did manage to alienate almost all of the original harder-core customers.

Roll that puppy back to 1.9, then develop from there.

World of Warplanes is growing and becoming more popular.  The game was revamped and is now much better.  Try it out. :)

It's certainly better than W.o.T. where your tanks that you spent many hours grinding are nerfed and ruined, with your time and effort totally thrown out the window and disrespected!  World of Warplanes doesn't do that.

It's a great game. :)

Didn't realize they did historical discussions.  Will have to check those out later.

I tried WOWP once. Nothing wrong with the game back then just didn't catch my interest. WOWS on the other hand, I was born to be a Japanese destroyer caption but several decades late and born in the wrong country. :(

World of Warplanes has been entirely redone since, "back then".  It's much better than it used to be.  :)

With World of Warships I personally find that the gameplay is agonizingly slow.  Also, naval guns firing with what looks like softballs being lobbed is entirely unrealistic.  So are torpedoes that are skimming along the surface of the water, making waves.  It's just very unrealistic. Torpedoes travel many feet below the surface of the water so as to hit a ship below the waterline, maximizing the damage done and increasing the likelihood of sinking the ship.

The torpedoes in WOWS are not skimming the surface and making waves.  What you are seeing are bubbles that come off a torpedo and rise to the surface.  In WW2 ships took evasive action not because they saw the torpedoes coming at the them. They took evasive action because they saw the bubbles. On some of the ships in WOWS their torpedoes run so deep they'll go under a destroyer without contact. Those torpedoes will only strike a deep draft ship.

The Iowa class battleships fired a 16 inch shell that travels at a maximum 820 m/s and at maximum range would take one and half minutes to reach their target. If WOWS was realistic, which none of Wargaming's games are, you would not see the shells after they leave the barrel but you could have two salvos in the air at the same time. If you could see the shells after they leave the ship what you would see is the round end of the shell as it flies away from the ship.

Torpedo underwater.

Spoiler

What 16" shells look like after fired from a battleship.

When you are firing at a target up to 24 km away you don't shoot the shells in a straight line. You lobe them in a long, high arch.

Lastly, WOWS has better videos.

Spoiler

Block Quote

That's what I see.

Lobbing softballs from naval guns is not realistic.  Those rounds can not be seen with the naked eye, as they are in World of Warships.

World of Warships also makes the same huge mistake that W.o.T. does, with nerfing ships.  I've been burned way too many times by W.o.T. already.  No thanks.

You and a total of 3 other players in a single battle, and the WoWP population is growing?

This is from when WoWP was actually fun, even if you fought more bots than players.

Back when we actually had 5 humans per side.
