I have a couple tanks that finally got to 100% and I picked some skill/perks for the crew. As I battle on with those tanks, I'll see those perks go from 0% to what I guess would be 100%. My question is will those perks only become active once they get to 100% or would 50% give me only half of that skill/perk.

thanks!

Skills and perks are different. Perks only work at 100%. BIA only works when it’s at 100% for every crew member.

You're going to make some mistakes, mate. Best of luck.

Got it... yes... I do mean perks... and I did hear that BIA needs to be assigned to all crew members before it works...

Skill are not the same as Perks --

Skills work incrementally, for example, a Gunner with 40% training in Snapshot will have 40% of the benefit of that Skill

Perks only work when they are trained to 100%, for example, a commander with 99% training in the Sixth Sense will have 0 benefit.  Once he reaches 100%, he will have the full benefit of Sixth Sense perk.

(this is why you always grind a Skill, and never grind a Perk)

Also, the Perk Brother in Arms is unique in that the ENTIRE crew must have it trained to 100% for the Perk to take effect.

Ok... Now I'm confused... How do I know the difference between skills and perks?  When I look at my crew-member under the skills/perks tab, I see a bunch of different options I can choose from...some are common and others are unique to that crew member..aren't those all perks? Lets take the commander for example... I have to get his skill up to 100% before I can start to select a perk...once I get a perk up to 100%, then it becomes either fully active or it was at the level of that perk at the time. Once it's 100%, then I can choose another perk... is that how it works??????

When you have the Personal File open simply roll your mouse pointer onto the item you are curious about.

A dialog box will appear. The bottom couple of lines tell you if it is a Skill or Perk.

That depends on how one feels about sending money to WG.

Grinding skills and resetting them to perks once they reach 100% does maximize crew capabilities, but costs 200 gold per crew member (100 during the rare discount weekends) for each reset. Grinding perks saves gold but means that part of the crew member's accumulated experience is not productive until the grind is completed. It is one of the more insidious pay for advantage mechanisms in the game.

Crew books provide some great options for starting new crews. It takes 210,060 to get the first skill/perk, another 420,120 to get the second. So... 11 training booklets (or a training guide plus a training booklet) will get the first skill/perk complete. A training manual (which can be purchased for 2,000,000 credits) will get 100% of the first and to about 50% on the second. (So will a universal manual.) It takes a fair number of these to get the second skill/perk to 100%, but it can be done.

The Personal Training Manual is perfect for getting the third skill/perk on a Commander. It is also pretty useful for getting an added crew member (e.g. the second loader in the Ferdinand) up to to speed with an already established crew, as it will get two skills/perks to 100% plus a third to 71%.

"...I have to get his skill up to 100%..."

I think you mean Training.

There is Training, the specialization i.e. commander, or gunner, etc. Training needs to be 100% before skills/perks are available.

There are skills. Skills work incrementally immediately.

There are perks. Perks work after they are 100%.

Thanks for that explanation... I'll have to look at that tab and see what I've chosen for my crew.
