The email gives you a FedEx tracking code and tells you the order your book is in the series

So what are the odds that a few nice improvements might come our way care of the World of Warships style production team?

1 - Allowing 1 artillery per platoon (similar to the one carrier)  It works there and isn't broken.

2 - Having a short period where if you have just repaired a module it cannot be instantly re-destroyed.  (such as when on fire and using an extinguisher in WOWS you cannot be lit on fire again for ~1-3 seconds)

3 - Changing matchmaker to allow tank platooning based on the HIGHEST tier a tank can see, so that preferred tanks are not harmed by being unable to platoon with non-preferred tanks.  (such as allowing an IS-6 to platoon with a Tiger P instead of an IS-3)

I'd say the first is most likely, and I'm hopeful they do make that change.  The second I think is extremely unlikely because they could have made this change at any time (assuming WoWS has been like that since the beginning?) and they haven't.  The third... I have no clue.  Not going to hold my breath on it, though i agree it would be an improvement.

Just my $0.02.

Yep....according to the email traffic, the book is on the way...

Sweet! :P

and.........

It has arrived!...looks good.  Somehow in the mix I did not realize there was a bonus code...so that worked too.

I asked for a comparison by anyone who has another Echo Point reprint over on Reddit.

"Well, I can vouch that the quality of the new Firepower is much better than my Sheridan copy. It feels like the difference between a textbook and a novel. If it takes longer to print but results in this kind of quality, I'm for it. However, hardcover editions are going to become plenty more expensive if it comes to printing something as thick as Sherman.

Also, the addendum is a really nice touch. I appreciate that over simply editing through Hunnicutt's original work."

Yup, the quality is top notch. :P

Also, I have a question for you Chieftain, which I'm hopping you can answer.

One thing I've noticed in the game about tanks with oscillating turrets is that they all have only one turret option. Is there a reason for this? Theoretically, would it be possible for a tank like the T54E1 to have the T77 turret as a second option (seeing as they're both oscillating turrets)? Or even the T54E2 turret? Is it possible for a tank to have an oscillating turret as one option and a conventional turret as a second option, or is there a coding issue preventing this from happening?

The likely reason for this is that in the game files the 'turret' of the oscillating turret is just the cradle and the 'gun' is both the gun and the rest of the turret superstructure. So to keep it simple they just limit autoloaders to a single turret.

Now there are tanks int he game which change turrets based on the gun that happens to be mounted (the WT Pz IV is one such tank, which has two different turret models depending on whether you have the 12,8cm or 15cm gun mounted), so theres no real reason to assume that theres any hard limitation but its rather a limitation of what the intention is for the tank (and the tanks that comprise its line).

I generally agree.  The print quality doesn't seem to be quite as good as the original printing, but is markedly better than the standard Echo Point offerings.  The photos are much clearer in the new edition Firepower than the copies of Abrams and Patton, but the paper stock feels thinner and not as glossy than what I remember the original run books as having.  The addendum is nice, but I have to point out that section on the T29 (pg 186) cuts off mid-sentence with a new paragraph on Pg 188.  (Page 187 is a photo plate.)

"...The firepower of neither the 105 or 155mm achieved the desired 10" of penetration at 30 degrees at 4,000 yards, the armor was 'unquestionably less than that required of" and that's it.

Hey Chief, have you watched the new movie War Machine..?

It's currently running on netflix right now, and if you haven't watched it yet, then I highly recommend seeing it.

It's both hilariously funny...:D  ...while being disturbingly 'spot on' at the same time...:amazed:

In any case, it's a must see.

~Cheers!

For those wondering about the missing words on p186 of the Firepower reprint, the full sentence is

"the armor was “unquestionably less than that required of the heavy tank” and that the weight imposed significant limitations."

Right. In an exercise of optimism over expectation, I have applied to apply to the Jedi Academy. If accepted in my application to apply, I travel to Fort Leavenworth in two weeks to learn how to apply (Army logic, don't lose too much sleep over it).

I have also ordered a new hat. The one I've been using for five years now has cracked in the sweatband and, frankly, has faded to a dark gray (Light gray in some places). I've decided to change style, as well, instead of a cattleman crown, I'm going C-Crown. Hopefully it works out (They do have a returns policy...)

Asked about the schedule for the next release of ITCH. I got this:

"We have two episodes almost ready, but your Russian voice was stuck in Prague with no passport"

I like the green crayons.

I was relayed this question from WulfeHound via Discord: regarding the NYMAS talk you'll be giving on September 22nd, will you actually be there in person? He mentioned that the talk last month that everything was done via Skype and/or phone calls

He mentioned Fort Leavenworth, so I'd guess the Command and General Staff College of the US Army. I have a buddy who took their distance-learning course a couple years ago while on various deployments.
