Cliff, North side.

Went to the West where you can hide behind the rock and have bushes in front of you. See the replay at 12:35.

Can someone explain what is going on? Why am I behind a rock and bushes, with relatively low profile hull, getting spotted?

My friend if you haven't discovered wot by now and their methodically, spend money and keep feeding the beast and it will continue to produce zip. Same RNG, MM, and old maps...if wrong please enlighten me.

Same with bushes in the middle of Fishermans bay. They almost never work, keep getting spotted from God knows whatever angles, and its always when Im in the north spawn. South spawn doesnt have problems. Great Design! Da!

  1. Obj 430 II has better base camo value
  2. Your tank has a very low base camo value
  3. Your camping spot D1 is too close to enemy tanks. You will get outspotted.

Field modifications, bond/ bounty equipment on a lot of tanks now......either adapt or continue to get spotted and die.

Im not sure I got your point. We are not in the open field. A bush is supposed to hide anything behind as long as spotting points are not exposed. I clearly keep my nose behind bushes.

2. Not sure how the camo value should matter in this case. Im not complaining that I didnt see him. I am confused how they spotted me behind the bushes.

3. I am pretty sure my tank was away from the closest enemy more than 50 meters. We had Lowe on the other side which supposed to spot any enemy that might stick to the west side.

I am totally fine to adopt but my understanding of bushes does not seem to match with what happened here.

Thats why I posted the question here to find out what I missed. Did the mechanics of bushes got changed? Did mechanics of spotting got changed?

Thanks for the review

First, thank you for this posting.

Now, from what I can see, initially, you were probably getting spotted by the ELC EVEN 90 most of the time you kept poking. They were probably set-up in those bushes where they were last spotted and just sat there. That was the simple part.

Once the EVEN 90 went up the hill, I think this is where some confusion as to who was spotting you comes into play.

Unfortunately, since the Obj 430 II hadn't been spotted yet, it's unclear as to where exactly it was sitting. However, it is clear, since they kept shooting you, the approximate "line" of where they were. It's just unknown how far back they were.

But, it would appear that the 430 II or the IS-M (both who had shot you from the same direction) were close enough to spot you. Furthermore, one, or both, of them could have been running a CVS, which, as you should know, reduces the camo rating of bushes. But, without knowledge of the exact equipment and crew skills they were running, it's difficult to determine exactly how/why the bush didn't appear to be working for you.

Also, I did notice that, most of the time, when you poked out from behind the rock, you did so mainly with just the front of your tank. Unfortunately, what you were doing was exposing a part of your tank that enables others to spot you without you being able to spot them back. Your "view ports" (the areas on your tank that you use to spot others) is located on your turret (there's a video somewhere that shows the various locations, but one should be where the gun and turret meet). So, since you weren't at least sticking your gun/turret out from behind the rock, all you were doing was letting the enemy spot you.

I think the 430 II and/or the IS-M were positioned a bit behind the bushes (where the EVEN 90 had sat), were using a CVS and other spotting equipment and skills/perks, and used "double-bushing" techniques to be able to spot you while remaining unspotted themselves.

Thanks Projectile_Misfired, for the analysis.

Indeed I did not know about CVS and for me bushes had a binary state. Not it seems like a stationary concealment. All make sense now.

I did push my nose (hull) out just for the testing purposes. I did not expect to spot them (which I tried at the beginning of the fight).

As I can read, CVS can be mounted to LT and MT so any other tank could have it and spot me after ELC went up the hill.

Thanks all.

Case closed. Need to keep a close eye on updates. They mess a lot of things around :(

keep in mind, heavy tank. Heavy.

If you ant to hide and use bushes with poor camo heavy tank, you must:

-have camo crew, do you? 100%?

-use multi layer bushing. 1,2,3 scrub bush is not sufficient. You need forest.

something like a Type 5 and jag panzer can even hide in bushes. But you need large amount, forest. A line of bush will not cut it

skill4ltu has  shown this lots of time in youtube clips if you are interested. Using heavy tanks.
